The term “sons of God” naturally includes His daughters.

An unforgettable spectacle: The

figure of Jesus transformed, his face shining as bright as the sun and his clothing whiter than white! An amazing metamorphosis on a mountain top, witnessed by his three closest disciples! (Matt. 17:2) Question: Do you know that one day you will look like Jesus did?

“He received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory: ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ And this voice, which came from heaven, we heard when we were with him on the holy mountain.” (2 Peter 1:17-18)

Peter, James and John were “eyewitnesses

of his majesty”

God is bringing His sons to glory through a process of transformation!

(Hebrews 2:10)

The sons are being changed by degrees into the image of the Son of God through metamorphosis—“from glory to glory.”

( 2 Cor. 3:18) “As we have borne the image of the earthy [the first Adam], we

shall also bear the image of the heavenly [the last Adam].” (1 Corinthians 15:49) This transformation is now taking place!

Jesus is “the firstborn among many brothers.” (Romans 8:29)

“He who prepares them and those who are being prepared all spring from one Father, so he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, ‘I will declare your name to my brothers; in the midst of the church I will sing praise to you.’” (Hebrews 2:12) The desire of every brother of the firstborn Son is to become just like him.

Although unrecognized by the world, we are now the sons of God. It does not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when Jesus shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:1-2) That will be the ultimate glory!

The Lord Jesus is “the brightness of God’s glory.” (Hebrews 1:3) He is “the image of the invisible God.” (Hebrews 4:4) As we behold Jesus we are changed into his image by the Spirit of the Lord, from glory to glory.

We are given the glory the Father gave His Son so that we may have the same unity they had—“You in me, I in you, they in us.” (John 17:22) Our entrance into ultimate glory will be in immortal bodies. The sons of God are being prepared for a glorious revelation in the coming resurrection! (Rom. 8:19)
