Children who paint the future
By Akiko Kameoka
The earth quaked, the waves roared. The ink bottle fell over, the lid was not closed.
Black ink spread all over. Adult tried to repaint, some tried to recover to the original color, another to a more
beautiful color. Some even tried to ignore the fact. Some spread black ink all over.
Black ink invaded the children’s white future. Oh, no !
But, look!God has given a brush to the children.A much bigger brush than adults have.
It is now all right to repaint all over that which adults have previously painted. Do not hesitate.
Paint a new future.
The future belongs to the children…yes it is theirs who are going to be born.
O God, I pray that black ink will not spread and defile anymore of the children’s future. Also, I pray that the children will move ahead
toward the untouched future which is like a blank sheet of paper.
