What is CARBODILITE?

“Carbodiimide” is a generic name of chemical substance [-N=C=N-].

CARBODILITE is multifunctional polycarbodiimide which contains chains

of carbodiimide group developed by our original technology.

CARBODILITE product line up

Powder type: hydrolysis stabilizer for bioplastics

Waterborne type: crosslinker for waterborne system

CARBODILITE Powder Type

Remarkable improvement of anti-hydrolysis property

Less pyrolysis gas emission and irritating smell during melt molding process

Excellent yellowing resistance

Key Benefits

Page 4: The Powder Seriespt.bme.hu/~bakonyi/MSDS/CARBODILITE HMV-15CA 2016 (002).pdf · 2019. 11. 18. · 4 Mechanism of hydrolysis control •Existence of H 2 O •Free carboxylic acid (acid

4

Mechanism of hydrolysis control

• Existence of H2O

• Free carboxylic acid (acid catalysis)

⇒ Dehydration with carbodiimide group

⇒ CARBODILITE reacts with carboxyl groups,

suppressing the catalytic promotions.

Also, CARBODILITE introduces cross-linking by the

same reactions to fasten the amputated molecules.

Because CARBODILITE is crosslinking with carboxyl group included in PBS resin and becomes high-molecular-weight , initial tensile strength growth.

In addition, hydrolysis resistant improve by initial acid value is reduced, and becoming high-molecular-weight.
