[assignment 1.1 - reverse engineering]
students were asked to fabricate by hand three families of topologically similar components and explore three alternative connection strategies. each family was to consist of five components each possessing a slight transformation/ evolution from the one pervious. scale, manipulation, and connectivity were examined in this project.

[assignment 1.2 - model citizen]
students were asked to further explore their components generated in assignenment 1.1 in the digital realm. transformations in a second dimension and modifications to connections were to be created in such a way that the components performance and assemblies would be optimized. the parametric engine grasshopper was to be utilized.

[assignment 1.3 - the 7 syllable assignment]
students were asked to experiment with information inputs at the parametric level in their assembly methods for the components generated in assignment 1.2. a set of fabricated pieces was to be generated and assembled from one of these parametric explorations.

[assignment 2.0 - compartition]
students were asked to consider the term ‘partition’ and design a system based on their definition. the partition was to evoke a sensory domain using a material selected from a provided list. all items in order to regenerate the partition needed to be considered and included in the project such as the fabrication and assembly method.

[assignment 3.0 - board to death]
students were asked to consider their graphical representations in their final studio II design projects. desk critiques were used to aid students in their representational illks throughout the project. rendering, line work, composition, language, use of text, story, and overall craft were to be considered in the evaluation process.
