Where are you going to be Nov.17-19, 2013? The answer should be at PLMA’s2013 Private Label Trade Show or you will be missing the private label

selling opportunity of the year. Buyers from today’s supermarkets, supercenters,drug chains, mass merchandisers, convenience stores, online retailers, importers,exporters, wholesalers, discounters, and even military exchanges will all be onhand to see new products and find new suppliers.

You won’t be alone either. More than 1,000 companies from 35 countries will be exhibiting their products, including 15 international pavilions. For morethan 30 years, PLMA’s annual trade show has been the industry event of theyear, where retailers and wholesalers source for their private label programs.From food, snacks and beverages to household and kitchen products, fromhealth and beauty to GM. Exhibitors range from small and medium-sizecompanies to well-known national brand makers who also supply store brands.

To maximize efficiency, the show floor is divided into three halls. The North Hallis devoted to food, snacks and beverages while the South Hall presents healthand beauty, household and GM. The new Sky Hall spotlights new exhibitors and store brands fastest-growing categories.

Exhibitors can use New Product Expo to showcase innovations in products and packaging as well as announce new products to retail buyers using PLMA’sonline Show Preview prior to the show. PLMA’s Official Program Guide offersadvertising opportunities to draw attention to exhibitors’booth location and products on display.

Exhibitors can also submit new products for display in PLMA’s New Product Expo®, which is located inside PLMA’s IdeaSupermarket® and open during show hours.

PLMA MATCHMAKER™ PLMA Matchmaker helps retailers and wholesalers arrangeappointments with exhibitors prior to the show. Exhibitorsreceive secure access codes prior to the show in order to participate.

OFFICIAL PROGRAM GUIDEAs a PLMA exhibitor, you get a free listing in the OfficialProgram Guide which includes company name, address,phone, website, email, product lines and exhibitorpersonnel. Advertising space is also available forcompanies who wish to promote their booth location or products.

PLMA LIVE! COVERAGEThe show is also broadcast over the Internet to retailersacross the country on www.plmalive.com as well as to TV monitors in hotels and exhibition halls.

PRELIMINARY RETAIL AND WHOLESALE REGISTRATION LISTExhibitors receive a preliminary retailer and wholesaler list30 days prior to the show to help arrange appointments in advance. A final list is available after the show to helpfollow up on contacts and arrange post-showappointments.

Welcome to the Private LabelManufacturers Association. It’s a big

family, too. With more than 3,500 membercompanies worldwide, PLMA is the onlyindustry organization devoted entirely to promoting the interests of storebrands. Through its year-roundprograms and publications, PLMA gives members the contacts andservices they need to competeeffectively in today’s marketplace.

MEMBERSHIP PROFILEFounded in 1979, PLMA’s membershipranges from multi-nationalcorporations to small family-ownedsuppliers. Their products include food, beverages, snacks, health and beauty, household, kitchen, housewares, DIY, leisureand general merchandise. Many member manufacturers only do private label. Others are well-known brand makers who also have private label capacity. Together, they form PLMA’s ActiveMembership. For brokers and trade suppliers, there is PLMA’sAssociate Membership. For international companies, there is PLMA International Council.

TRADE SHOWS PLMA provides member manufacturers with sellingopportunities around the world. In addition to PLMA’s annualshow in Chicago, PLMA presents the “World of Private Label”International Trade Show in May in Amsterdam in Europe.PLMA’s Shanghai Private Label Fair in China in December ispresented in partnership with the Shanghai InternationalSourcing Promotion Center.

CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS PLMA also presents industry conferences and events throughoutthe year that deal with current issues from marketing andconsumer trends to trade practices and legislative and regulatoryconcerns. These include PLMA’s Annual Meeting & LeadershipConference held in March and PLMA’s Washington Conference in October.

EXECUTIVE EDUCATION Members can also participate in

PLMA’s Executive Education program,developed in conjunction with St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. The program offers a 3-day program ofcourses covering private label history,retail marketing and merchandising,new product development andpromotion in June and a special 2-day curriculum in November priorto the start of the trade show.

RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONSPLMA provides members with key intelligence data, too.

In conjunction with The Nielsen Company, PLMA publishes theAnnual Private Label Yearbook with market share data fromsupermarkets, drug chains and mass merchandisers. PLMA alsoregularly tracks consumer shopping behavior in conjunction withGfK Research. To keep members informed throughout the year,PLMA provides members with the online E-Scanner newsletters.

PLMA.ORG PLMA Member Services are coordinated through an exclusivemember service website PLMA.ORG. These services includePLMA’s Internet Yearbook with Nielsen market share data for over 700 product categories and subcategories across allchannels and nine geographical regions on a quarterly basis.Members-only services also include access to PLMA’s IdeaSupermarket, with research on products and packaging ofretailers around the world and PLMA’s broker and supplierdirectories.
