The electronic PDLP handbook for students
What is required of you
• PhD Students (FT): 200 hours of subject-specific and personal
development/employment skills training over 3years (= approx. 2
weeks per year)
• Mphil Students (FT): 60-70 hours (over Year 1)
Research training for research students is an integral part of a research degree programme, as set out in Regulation 2D. Students must fulfil this requirement as part of their progression before they submit their thesis.

Make sure you complete and include evidence of:
• Analysis of your learning needs and skill development objectives
• A record of research training and skills development you have completed, including a reflection on its value to you
• An ongoing record of changes to learning needs and skills development objectives
