His life as well as his family changed in a second after he found a big pearl that made their life in dangerous situation when a greedy doctor and his people tried to get the pearl in every ways. The story reach the highest tension when Kino and his wife Juanna as well as their baby Kayotito struggled for their life from some people who hunted them. In this crisis time Kino decided not to run away and didnt try to sell the pearl anymore, but instead the went back to the village to face the reality. This is the climax of this story.

IntroductionThe pearl The kinds of conflicts are as follows: - Kinos problem to find some money to cure his son from the scorpions poison. Internal conflict - Kinos problems with the doctor and his people (the pearl seller) who tried to cheat him that continually bother his family life for just to get the big pearl. External conflict - Kinos problem to his mind how to sell the pearl. Internal conflict. Most of the places in this story take place in Kinos village and his town. The sea and the sea shore are also the places that mostly appeared. While the time of the pearl is about the beginning of 20th century, more or less around 20s and 30s. The function of the setting of the Pearl is only as the background for theres no significant relation between the conflicts and the settings.

Kinds of ConflictsThe pearl Kino actually was an ordinary boy who grew up in the Seta village which most of the people were the traditional pearl diver. He was a sort of a kind hearted man, and a little naf. His personality, previously described as humble and simple, changed dramatically when he got the pearl of the world. He became curious and enthusiastic about getting a wealthy life that he had never thought before. At the end Kino realized that what he had done could harm his family. So, the kind of character of Kino is a round, dynamic and protagonist.CharactersThe pearlHe is Round character because his behavior, especially after having the pearl was unpredictable such as when he could not sell the pearl in the town he tried to bring it to the big city by boat, but when this also failed he tried by another way this happened on and on. This also indicate that Kino showed his eagerness to find some ways or solution how to sell the pearl in one hand and keep his family safe on another hand. From this fact we can see that in the way of thinking Kino was a sort of flexible or many-sided view. He tried to look at many angles to solve his conflicts. He is also Dynamic for some changes he made. Starting from his personality or behavior. From a simple man to a rather ambitious one. From sort of naf to complicated one and so forth.

CharactersThe pearlHis wife expressed a different opinion. She didnt agree with Kino to keep and sell the pearl. She thought that the thing was not a good one. The pearl was a cursed one that can make ruin their family. Juanna was a sort of simple woman, typically a villager, that all she wanted was only to serve her children and family. She didnt want much money, not interested at wealthy life even thought her husband got a huge pearl she thought that could put them in danger (Flat, static and protagonist). She is Flat cause she showed the simple character both in behavior and way of thinking. In behavior she only follow her husband, although she didnt agree with him. In the way of thinking also portrayed that she keep her simple mind that all she wanted was to keep her baby and husband alive and didnt care with the pearl at all

CharactersThe pearlWhile the doctor and his men (the professor, the pearl seller, and the hunters) were showed different characters. They were played as the Antagonist one. All they wanted to do is to get the pearl in any ways. Doctor Kart was a sort of greedy, or selfish. He only thought about his own benefit regardless the others. As long as he was happy, he would get what he wanted even that would kill somebody. Thats why we can conclude that this character is also round and dynamic. He is round character because to get what he wanted he had a big plan and he asked all his followers to construct the planning in order to get success. And dynamic for his plans and behavior were changed here and there to make all his desires came true. The main theme that appropriate for the Pearl is the worth/valuable thing does not always bring about happiness. The pearl, the most valuable jewelry should make the owners life rich and happy but here the owner and his family lived in fear and terror, far from being rich and happiness.

Charactersthe COUNT OF MONTECRISTO The story reach the highest tension when Edmond Dante put into prison and he felt depressed and hopeless that made him to try to commit suicide. In this crisis time Edmond realize that would not help him and then he decided to take revenge and took back his life after he met Abe Faria, the priest which told him everything about life and how to survive. This is the climax of this story.Plot -Climaxthe COUNT OF MONTECRISTO The main conflict of the count of Montecristo began when Edmond Dante betrayed by Fernand Mondego, his own best friend and he was put into the prison while his fianc, Mercedes, then married with Fernand. This is External conflict. This fact made Edmond felt depressed and wanted to suicide but then he changed his mind and wanted to take revenge. This is Internal conflict in his mind. Even thought the setting took place in the nineteenth century in some places in French the conflicts and the story were not talk about the setting. The function of the setting here is only as the background of the action.

Conflictthe COUNT OF MONTECRISTO Edmond Dante: a kind hearted, humble, a little bit naf person and hopeless in the beginning but changed to be critical, optimistic and eager to take revenge in the middle to the end (Round Dynamic Protagonist).Fernand Mondego: a sort of opportunistic and tricky man. All he wanted to do just to fulfill what he wanted to he had many plans deceitful ones. He kept his personality and behavior from the beginning to the end of the story (Round Static Antagonist) The best theme for this story probably; The life and happiness should be struggled by any means. Here Edmond had to fight for his happiness and his love that torn apart from him.

The function of the setting is as the background of the action cause the conflict/story doesnt immediately relate to the settings (in Germany and in 19th C).

But his genius in science and the curiosity brought him to the illegal research which later became disaster not only for the society but also for his life.

CharactersFrankensteinDr. Victor Frankenstein: His personality and the way of making decision make this character as a kind of Round character. How he tried to solve the conflicts and the way of thinking are the reason why he is a Round or complex. This character is also dynamic for some changes he made. Starting from he create the monster, then he made agreement with the monster to create another creature, the female one. Again he changed his mind not longer than he almost complete the another creature, then he broke the creature. At the end after he tried to hide away from the creature he decided to hunt and kill the monster after the creature killed Elizabeth, his wife.

CharactersFrankensteinThe Monster: He was a monster-like creature made by Dr. Victor Frankenstein in favor to create a free-disease human. But the experiment was failed, the creature became a baby that didnt know anything but had more power and looked like a monster. This situation forced him to ask Victor to make his friend, his spouse. But when Victor destroyed his partner (the female creature) this made him anger and said that he would destroyed Victors wife in the first night of his married.

CharactersFrankensteinFlat character: The monster was a sort of simple or flat character. His objective was so simple, he only wanted to live as normal as other people. He didnt want to harm anybody else. But because of his lack of knowledge and didnt know how to be socialize with the people, made him put into troubles. When Frankenstein destroyed all the things that deal with the creation of his future spouse, he then promised to kill Frankensteins wife. From this fact, we realize how this character seems like to have flat character in which he only see from one side of the problem that is from his own interest.Dynamic character: The creature/monster was kind of dynamic character. Some important changes happened in this character. For example; when the monster change from defensive and patient into aggressive, cruel and take a revenge to Dr. Frankenstein.

CharactersFrankensteinBy looking at the conflicts in this story the appropriate theme could be: Human knowledge has limitation and do not play as a God. Human can not too rely on his ability to solve all the problems for his knowledge has limitation. Above all human ability, knowledge, or science there is God power to determine the human planning. Do not play as a God.Frankenstein: identity of noble family. the name of Frankenstein belongs to that family who is rich and prestigious. It also symbolizes that Frankenstein is the person who created the human corpse. For the Body, Frankenstein is the creator of him. This symbol is a kind of symbol as original symbol because it relates to the story. The letter F: Frankenstein, direction/sign. Not only just show as the name of a person, but it more than this. Through symbol F that the Body made, it refers to as a sign or direction to guide Frankenstein to find the Body. This symbol is a kind of symbol as original symbol because it relates to the story.

ThemeThree MusketeersThe Climax is when Dartagnant decided to go to England to take the missing jewelry of the necklace. The main conflict is the struggle of Dartagnant and the three musketeers to help the queen to get the missing jewelry of the necklace (External conflict). There is also internal conflict that is in Dartagnants mind when he had to choose between helping to help his friends or continue his journey to England. The setting of the story took place in the reign of King Louise from French, but the conflicts are about the struggling for honoring the country and for friendship so the relation between the story and the setting do not close. Therefore the function of the setting is as the background.

Climax & ConflictsThree MusketeersDartagnant: A young ambitious man who eagerly wanted to be one of the musketeers of the King. But the problems of the royal family lead him into the struggle between to protect the royal familys honor and to fight the Cardinal men who wanted to uncover the love affair between the queen and Duke of Buckingham of England. From this events this young man showed his dignity to become a knight, the adventure with the three musketeers who help him to go to England had increased his maturity (Round Dynamic Protagonist). The Appropriate theme of the Three musketeers could be: The friendship and the loyalty to country must be struggled

CharactersDr. Jekyll and Mr. HydeThe climax is when Dr. Jekyll decided to end his life for theres no way out to stop Mr. Hyde. The conflicts of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is the struggle of a man to get human being free from the dark side or evil within that at the end make him suffers.Based on the conflicts we conclude that the function of setting is as the background. Because the conflicts do not have relation to the setting. The Appropriate theme of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde could be: Human efforts and knowledge have a limitation. Human must not force his ability to do something that couldnt be done.
