Happy New Year! Can you believe its 2020? I can’t. As we all know, this is the time of

year many of us pledge to start making resolutions to change a certain area, or

multiple areas in our lives. Maybe we have some extra pounds to shed, want

to stop smoking or just be a better person. New Year’s resolutions range from

simple desires to seemingly full-proof-plans for extensive life change. What

we all have in common is the hope that something will change, and life will be

different (and better) in the year ahead. Every year people pledge to start the

New Year off differently, however, a few short weeks later, many of us end up

discouraged and filled with remorse over our failed attempts to make our

resolutions come to pass. Don’t give up! Just start again the next day.

Remember that Jesus was born, he died and he rose again! That means this

year, this month, today, or even this moment, is filled with hope for a better

future — in Him. When we desire change, we have the perfect example to

follow: Jesus Christ. When we are ready to implement change, we have the

perfect guide book: His Word. Finally, we have the perfect power source to

strengthen our resolve: His Spirit. With Christ, we don’t have to wait for

another New Year to roll around, or for the big glittery ball to drop in Times

Square. His mercy is new every morning. We can pursue our own new

beginning right now, today, everyday!

Now that we have officially turned the page on 2019 and we are heading into

the second half of our Columbian Year, I’d like to take a moment to thank all

of the Officers of the Council who have stepped up and done a remarkable job

so far. Only through their hard work have we been able to accomplish all

of the things that we have done, and I am proud to say that we are on our way to earning the Columbian Award

again this year!

I also want to thank everyone who worked to help with the C & B drive this year, especially PGK John Praino for

all of his hard work, and of course Rich Costa. As many of you know, this is where the bulk of our funding comes

from that allows us to do all of the charitable work. I don’t yet have all of the numbers, but I know our Council

will be at the top of the list of sellers this year once again. Awesome job!

I would also like to thank all of the Brothers and Sisters who made our Christmas season such a success. From

putting our Nativity and float together, to marching in the Christmas Parade, to coming and helping at the Adult

and kids Christmas parties and coming to the Light up for Christ prayer, selling the Wreaths at the Church and

everything else that we did. You are truly an amazing group of individuals and I am certainly blessed to call you

all my Brothers and Sisters.

With all that being said, we STILL have a lot of work to do in the upcoming months! The Novena for Life that we

are doing as a Council later this month is a MAJOR program and is a very important event. I hope to see many of

you there to help us kick off this prayer for life.

May the Peace and Love of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all,

M. Boehm

District Deputy Report

Brothers, Happy New Year to all my Brothers and their families. May your New Year be healthy and prosperous. This new year will bring challenges to us as Knights, but let’s not lose focus as to

why we joined this organization. As we go to the Right to life Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on January 19th or the Right to Life March in Washing-ton in January 24th or if you can not go please pray for the unborn child. If you missed the opportunity to sell C&B books you can sell Chapter Books in January. As I said it my message. I stand for you. I appreciate everything you do and without you being in the Knights of Columbus we would not exist.

Thank you for being a Knight and God Bless, Bill

Time for New Beginnings

After 40 years in the work force my time has come to begin a new and exciting chapter in

life. March 31st, 2020 will be my last day as a Knights of Columbus field agent. It’s time to spend more time

with my wonderful wife and family and do the things I could not because of the demands of a Knights of

Columbus field agent, like being more involved with my own council activities.

It has been an honor and pleasure to serve the members of your councils. Over the last ten years I have met

with hundreds of terrific families, some hopefully becoming lifelong friends.

If there is anything I can do for you between now and March 31st please do not hesitate to contact me.

My Dear Sister Columbiettes and Brother Knights,

Happy New Year and welcome back. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season. Now it is time

to get back to work because we only have three months before our annual Victorian Tea and Chinese

auction.

Please start bringing in new or nearly new items for the baskets. We will also need gift certificates from local busi-

nesses, so please ask the places you frequent. I have letters for you to give the managers. Please ask them to

make sure the gift certificates are dated for at least 6 months past the date of the Tea, which is March 31, 2020.

Rose Marie Libertilli will have sign up lists with her at our meeting January 20th. Thank you all in advance.

Please keep all our sister Columbiettes and brother Knights in your prayers especially Elaine Addie, Terry Bobe,

Gerry Restifo and Tatiana Drawbridge, we are so proud of Tatiana and her service in the Navy.

Happy Birthday to the November babies.

May the peace of our Lord be with you always,
