Fear No One

Jesus said to the Twelve: “Fear no one. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.

What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;

rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.”

- From today’s Holy Gospel, Matthew 10:26-33

Sacramental Life Baptism To have a child baptized, parents must register and attend a class as a couple. Try to attend before your child is born. At least one parent and godparent must be practicing Catholics. Please call or email the church office for information or to register.

Confession The priest is available for Penance at St. Bernadette on Saturdays at 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM, and on Thursdays at 5:30 PM. Confessions are offered Sundays at St. Mary Bremen at 8:00 AM. Every Catholic priest is available whenever needed.

Anointing and Care of the Sick The priest gives the Anointing of the Sick to one who is dangerously ill, facing major surgery, or suffering from the ravages of old age. Call the parish office to inform us if a loved one is in need of pastoral care in sickness, particularly with an extended absence from attending Mass.

Holy Matrimony Couples wishing to marry should contact the parish office six months before a wedding. Why so long? Because this Sacrament, not just the ceremony, requires serious preparation. And the Church needs to be involved in that preparation. The Church needs to support couples through the years of married life and offers programs to enhance married life. To learn about these programs, watch the bulletin. Eucharistic Adoration Eucharistic Adoration takes place each Wednesday at St. Bernadette with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 9:00 AM and Benediction and Reposition at 2:00 PM. Exposition also takes place each Thursday at St. Bernadette from 7:00 PM until MIDNIGHT. On the first Thursday of the month we offer a Eucharistic Holy Hour at St. Mary in Bremen after the morning Mass. All are welcome to come as you are able, or stop in for prayer anytime.

Collar Corner

Happy Father’s Day to natural and spiritual fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and father figures. No one can replace you and we love you all!

We pray in gratitude for our newly ordained priestly Fathers, who will be beginning their assignments in a few short weeks. Their Ordination and First Masses of Thanksgiving are always phenomenal moments. Again, any high school student interested in spending some time with the seminarians to discern his vocation should let us know and we will gladly cover the cost of the Quo Vadis program. See details below.

Congratulations to Leo and Barb Kunkler who were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony this week in Bremen! May God bless your new life together.

June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Families are encouraged to enthrone their homes with the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is a powerful way to foster praying together as a family. To find out more, visit www.welcomehisheart.com.

As many of you know, our principal Pam Eltringham is transitioning out of her longtime role this summer. We have begun to open a search process and ask your prayers for its success. She is impossible to replace, but our parish school will continue in its steady course because of her wise counsel and incomparable legacy.

Active registered families with children in our Catholic schools who have requested subsidy grants should have received forms in the mail.

As we enter into Ordinary Time Sundays, remember that no time is ordinary, especially this time. Returning to attending Mass is an ongoing process with many considerations, above all spiritual ones. Let us know of anyone that should be reached out to. Ensure that you prioritize Confession for your family. This is a time for conversations with the fallen away. Witness to your Faith more strongly than ever!

In Our Lord and Our Lady,

Father Tomson

We Pray in June We pray that all those who suffer may find their way in life, allowing themselves to be touched by the Heart of Jesus.

QuoVadis Retreat Attention all Catholic young men entering 9th – 12th grade. Do you know where your life is going? The Lord Jesus has a great plan for you! You are invited to attend the Quo Vadis Retreat, spending time with other young men discerning God’s call. Quo Vadis is led by priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Columbus and is supported by the Diocesan Office of Vocations. It will be held July 26th - July 29th. The cost is $40. For information or to register go to https:// faceforwardcolumbus . com/quo-vadis/ or contact Michael Haemmerle at columbusquovadis @ gmail . com. Bishop Brennan on the Radio Bishop Brennan celebrated Mass and led a rosary to end racism; these were aired on St. Gabriel Catholic Radio. To listen, please visit this link: https:// stgabrielradio . com / bishop-robert-brennan-mass-homily-and-rosary-for-an-end-to-racism/.
