It is hard to believe that this Friday will already mark one month since our new Parish of St. John Bosco was canonically formed! For me, personally, it has been marvelous to see how so many of you from the different churches are participating in the life of the parish; are faithful to the parish and are reaching out to one another making every effort towards unity. We are the parish and you are giving a living witness to that reality. Thank you. As we continue to grow and get to know each other better, there are two parish events that I would like to encourage all of us to take part in. October 1st, just a month away, the parish will celebrate multi-cultural day. It will be a opportunity for us to get to know and appreciate a little more our rich cultural heritages. It is my dream that every cul-ture will share itself with the rest of us. Besides the many Latin American cultures (I believe we have fami-lies from every country in Latin America!), it will be fabulous to see the richness of our Polish culture; the marvels of Italy with its regions with their foods and customs; the Brazilian culture being celebrated, and the many Indian cultures that live in our parish! We are so blessed in our diversity! I invite every group to share its cultural wealth: a table, some food, traditional mu-sic and dance, whatever. What a great opportunity to respect one another, learn from one another, enjoy one another– while at the same time celebrating our unity in our diversity. More details will follow, but, please save the date and begin to get together to plan for a great afternoon. Our parish is a playground where we form true and lasting relationships! Second, there is a daily event. The first an-nouncement every Sunday is a call to come to the Ad-oration Chapel and pay a visit to the Blessed Sacra-ment. The Eucharist is the source of unity and, if we are going to be united as a parish, we need to root our-selves in Eucharistic Adoration. The Adoration Chapel on Nicola Place belongs to the entire parish. All our groups should be arranging for a time in the week to be there, to organize language celebrations—to pray. It is wonderful to sit before the Blessed Sacrament quietly and to suddenly realize people around you are talking to God in English, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian —and in whatever other languages they learned their prayers. God understands all languages and all cul-tures! Our parish is a parish where our relationship with Jesus deepens, grows and develops! As we prepare for our Oct 1st multi-cultural event and for our daily event of visiting the Blessed Sacrament, we re-enforce our belief that we meet Jesus in the Eucharist and in each other! ¡Parece mentira que este viernes marca un mes de que nuestra nueva parroquia de San Juan Bosco fue formada canónicamente! Para mí, personalmente, ha sido maravilloso ver cómo muchos de ustedes de las diferentes Iglesias están participando en la vida de la parroquia; Son fieles a la parroquia y se están acercando unos a otros ha-ciendo todos los esfuerzos hacia la unidad. Somos la pa-rroquia y ustedes dan un testimonio vivo a la realidad. Gracias. A medida que continuamos creciendo y cono-ciéndonos mejor, hay dos eventos parroquiales que me gustaría animar a todos a participar. El 1 de octubre, a un mes de distancia, la parro-quia celebrará el día multicultural. Será una oportunidad para conocer y apreciar un poco más nuestras ricas heren-cias culturales. Es mi sueño que cada cultura comparta con el resto de nosotros. Además de las muchas culturas latinoamericanas (creo que tenemos familias de todos los países de América Latina!), Será fabuloso ver la riqueza de nuestra cultura parroquial; Las maravillas de Italia sus regiones con sus comidas y costumbres, las costumbres de Brasil, y las muchas culturas indias en nuestra diversidad! ¡Somos tan bendecidos en nuestra diversidad! Invito a todos los grupos a compartir su riqueza cultural: una me-sa, algo de comida, música tradicional y danza, sea cual sea: ¡Qué gran oportunidad para respetarse unos a otros, aprender unos de otros, disfrutar unos de otros, al mismo tiempo celebrando nuestra unidad en Nuestra diversidad. Más detalles seguirán, pero, por favor mantenga la fecha y empiece a reunirse para planear una gran tarde. ¡Nuestra parroquia es un patio de recreo donde creamos verdade-ras relaciones! En segundo lugar, hay un acontecimiento diario. El primer anuncio de todos los domingos es un llamado a venir a la Capilla de la Adoración y visitar el Santísimo Sacramento. La Eucaristía es la fuente de la unidad y, si vamos a estar unidos como parroquia, necesitamos arraigarnos en la Adoración Eucarística. Dios en-tiende todos los idiomas y todas las culturas! Nuestra pa-rroquia es una parroquia donde nuestra relación con Jesús se profundiza, crese y se desarrolla. ¡Mientras nos preparamos para los acontecimien-tos multiculturales del 1 de octubre y nuestros aconteci-mientos diarios de visitar el Santísimo Sacramento, reafir-mamos nuestra creencia que encontramos a Jesús en la Eucaristía y en uno al otro! ¡Que Dios los bendiga!

Na próxima sexta-feira a nossa paróquia completará um mês. E maravilhoso ver como muitos de vocês vindos de diferentes igrejas estão participando da nova paróquia e buscando a unidade. Vocês estão dando um belo testemunho. Muito obrigado! Dois eventos estão por acontecer e gostaria que todos participassem. Primeiro de outubro, o dia multicultural que e uma boa oportunidade para nos conhecermos melhor. Desejo que as culturas sejam partilhadas e mais conhecidas. Apesar das variadas cultuas latino americanas nos formamos uma única família. E lindo ver as riquezas cultuais na nossa paróquia. A Itália com sua comida e tradições, o Brazil cele-brando suas festas, e muitas culturas indígenas. Convido a cada cultura a partilhar as suas riquezas, com alimentos, musicas, danças. Que boa oportunidade para demonstrarmos respeito e aprendermos uns com os outros a ser unidade na diversida de. Mais detalhes teremos depois, reserve a data. A nossa paróquia e um espaço que favorece um bom relacionamento. Segundo, ha um evento diário, a visita ao santíssimo. A missa e fonte de unidade, e precisamos ter a adoração ao santíssimo com fundamento de tudo. A capela do Santíssimo na Nicola Place pertence a paróquia inteira. Todos os grupos deveriam arrumar o seu momento de adoração ao Santíssimo. E super legal estar na capela e ouvir pessoas rezando em português, inglês, espanhol, polonês, italiano e outras línguas. Deus en-tende todas línguas e culturas. Preparando pa-ra a festa cultural, continuemos crescendo na fé que nos encontramos Jesus na eucaristia e no próximo. Deus te abençoe!

W ten piątek minął miesiąc odkąd nowy kościół powstał pod wezwaniem St. John Bosco,łączący wszystkie parafie w jedna wspólnotę .Cieszy fakt , ze wielu parafian partycypuje w życiu parafii .Dziekuje wszystkim. Chciałbym zwrócić uwagę na wydarzenia które będą miały miejsce w par-afii. 1 pazdziernika będziemy obchodzić międzynarodowy dzień kultury. Będzie to dla nas okazja aby poznać się z parafianami z in-nych krajów.Pragne aby każda obcojęzyczna grupa Zaprezentowała swoją kulturę , po-trawy i muzykę, obyczaje. Więcej szczegółów będzie podanych później ale już teraz jest czas aby się zwołać i zacząć organizować przygotowania. How do you get more out of the Mass? By putting more of yourself in! When you are at Mass, do you sit, stand, kneel, speak the responses and sing? That is only the beginning of how you can fully be in-volved. How do you engage your mind, heart and soul? By learning how to be an active participant. You are not part of a massive audience, but present to pray the Mass through and with Jesus, with your body, heart and mind, as an important part of the community of all God’s people.

CONFIRMATION Year 1 & 2 FAITHFUL SERVICE TO OTHERS

Our Religious Education year 1 and year 2 confirmation stu-dents are each preparing to receive a sacrament that strength-ens them through the Holy Spirit to grow and mature as a Christian. In accepting responsibility for our own Christianity we encourage our students to search out those in need of help, just as Jesus did. This service to others is a privileged way of serving and discovering Christ! This year our students will participate is several service opportunities including our Don Bosco Community Center Food Pantry. We will be sharing more details during religious ed classes in October! PARA NUESTROS HIJOS ¿Cómo se obtiene más de la misa? Antes de la Misa, piensa que tienes que agradecer y también quién nece-sita oraciones esta semana y lleva esto a la misa! Al entrar en la iglesia saluda a otros miembros de la co-munidad con alegría y cariño. Observa los colores en el altar, las vestimentas del sacerdote y los símbolos alrededor de la iglesia para saber qué tiempo litúrgico la iglesia está celebrando. 1. In these days, Father Provincial informed us of the good news that Father Tomasz Grzegorzewski, from one of our Salesian provinces in Poland, will be joining our community! Father Tomasz will be minister-ing to our Polish Community while at the same time actively engaged in our parish life. Father has been working in Ireland for the past nine years! We welcome Father Tomasz who will be arriving on Septem-ber 12th.

2. At the same time Father Provincial told us about Father Tomasz, he also announced that Father Dave Moreno is being transferred to the Provincial House in New Rochelle, Fr. Dave, while serving as Provin-cial Secretary, he has been living with the Port Chester Salesian Community and helping us in the parish for the past five years. While we wish Father Dave all the best, he will be greatly missed. Thank you, Fa-ther Dave!

3. With the coming of Father Tomasz, I want to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANKS to Father John Pikielski for the service he has given to our Polish community during the past year. Thank you, Father John!

4. This weekend I also want to announce the new members of our parish’s new finance committee. They are David Gemio, Deacon Michael Gizzo, Adam Rudin and Walter Quiroz—they will be joined by our Business Manager John Moran and our finance person, Michael McCarthy. I want to thank these men for their willingness to serve the parish in this most important mission. We want our new parish of St. John Bosco, to be characterized by wise and prudent stewardship in order to be able to better fulfill our mis-sion.

El padre Tomasz estará ministrando a nuestra comunidad polaca, mientras que al mismo tiempo se dedicará activamente a nuestra vida parroquial. ¡Padre Tomasz ha estado trabajando en Irlanda durante los últimos nueve años! Damos la bienvenida al Padre Tomasz que llegará el 12 de septiembre.

2. Al mismo tiempo que el Padre Provincial nos habló del Padre Tomasz, también anunció que el Padre Dave Moreno será trasladado a la Casa Provincial de New Rochelle, el P. Dave, en su calidad de Secre-tario Provincial, ha estado viviendo con la Comunidad Salesiana de Port Chester ayudándonos en la pa-rroquia durante los últimos cinco años. Le deseamos lo mejor al Padre Dave, le echaremos de menos. Gracias, Padre Dave!

3. Con la llegada del Padre Tomasz, quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para darle LAS GRACIAS al Pa-dre John Pikielski por el servicio que ha prestado a nuestra comunidad polaca durante el año pasado. ¡Gracias, Padre John!

4. Este fin de semana también quiero anunciar los nuevos miembros del nuevo comité de finanzas de nues-tra parroquia. Ellos son David Gemio, el Diácono Michael Gizzo, Adam Rudin y Walter Quiroz, a los que se unirán a nuestro Gerente de Negocios John Moran y nuestra persona de finanzas, Michael McCarthy. Quiero agradecerle a estos hombres por su disposición de servir a la parroquia en esta misión tan importante. Queremos que nuestra nueva parroquia de San Juan Bosco se caracterice por una savia y prudente mayordomía para poder cumplir mejor nuestra misión.
