complete Minimum Skill Requirement Testing in order to be drafted for
game play.

Policies and Procedures
Rostering Policy
A League Member, who is uninjured and who is a Member in Good
Standing with the League will have priority in terms of rostering for
games.
Skill Assessment: A score out of ten points based on a Skater’s ability to
block and/or jam, receive/give hits, confidence on the track, pack
awareness, demonstrated knowledge of the game and adherence to the
rules, penalty box etiquette, etc.
This score will not be determined by minimum skills test scores, but
rather will progress and rise in rank as a player does so at practice.
Similarly, scores may be subject to lower as a consequence of a long
absence from practice, should the skater be less able to demonstrate
skills and knowledge as the result of said absence.
Attendance: Roller Derby is a team sport and requires the development
of individual skill, team play, and strategy. These essential aspects of the
game can only be developed through attending team practice.
Attendance scores will reset in January and be calculated over the
course of the season.
A score out of ten points will be assigned to members based on practice
attendance.
Consideration will be given to Skaters who attend practices or open
scrimmages hosted by other leagues. Confirmation of attendance may
be required to earn the half point.
League Building Events: A score out of five will be assigned to Skaters
based on their participation in league building events that occur outside
of scheduled practices. Fundraising initiatives, parades, and board-

sanctioned media contact are some examples of league building events.
Alternate Player Policy (APs): The Area 705 Roller Derby Bout
Committee plans and schedules games several months before the season
begins. In a case where the League is unable to create a team from
existing Skaters in good standing, the Training Committee will invite
players from other leagues to complete the roster rather than forfeit a
game.
Skaters with questions about the Roster Policy or Points System are
encouraged to speak to the Head Coach. If questions regarding the
Roster Policy or Points System remain unresolved, Skaters are
encouraged to refer to the Conflict Resolution and complete necessary
forms.
Visiting Skater Policy: Area 705 Roller Derby welcomes visiting
skaters to open practices, however, the league is unable to conduct
Minimum Testing on skaters from other leagues. To attend an open
practice, please contact a member of the Executive Board for more
information.
