The film is set in New York City in the future, in the year 2050. I chose Steven Spielberg as the director as he is one of the best directors for Sci-Fi works. He is well known for directing the re-adaptation of the 1898, ‘War of the Worlds.’ I chose the film to be set in the future because of the choice of genre, as it works better with how I imagine the film to be like. I chose Mel Gibson as ‘the outsider,’ as he has appeared in sci-fi thrillers, such as ‘Signs,’ and with him being older than Tom Hardy, it makes him a good choice as he will stand out more, which is what we want for the choice of ‘the outsider.’ Tom Hardy is my choice to play James, who would play Natalie Portman’s boyfriend in this film. I chose him because he has played a very varied casting role in many films, so he has a wide range of skills, suitable to almost any genre. I also wanted the actor to be a big build, which makes him a good choice. Natalie Portman was my choice to play his girlfriend as she appeared in ‘Star Wars: Episode I, II, and III, which is a range of different genres, but the main one being science fiction. The Star Wars films are extremely popular so her role in these films is very well known, making her a good choice for this film.
