with Father David …

Wonders Never Cease The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness O Lord. –Lamentations 3:22, 23

One of the strong and rewarding features of God’s people is our opportunity to celebrate God’s amazing generosity. God’s gift of life is a wonder. Our daily bread is as well. Family, friends, neighbors and our family of faith are wonders of his love. When you realize your relative health, you give thanks to God for his gener-osity. Do you have ways of transportation? These are blessings too. They are things that people might call ordinary realities, but people of faith think of them as wonders of God’s blessings.

Have you encountered astounding wonders too? I speak to people from time to time who describe inexplica-ble physical healing, and people who have sensed the presence of God that ushered in an uncanny sense of peace. The wonder of God is manifested when people experience danger held off, insolvency averted, or anxiety dispelled. As Christians we thank God for the creation, for Christ coming to restore our nature to the image of God and for the Holy Spirit’s power for ministry.

It is an absolute celebration of God’s generosity whenever we come to the Eucharist, that communal act of thanksgiving. There, we remember deeply God is ever with us, that our sins are forgiven, that we will live forever with the family of saints in heaven. Indeed, wonders never cease. We move out from the Eucharist and represent Christ and his love every place we go. The saints of God do wonderful things: Meals-On-Wheels, Food Pantry, visit the sick, the homebound and prisoners, comfort friends who are hurting, supply the veterans’ residential center, give handmade lap-quilts, prayer beads or wind chimes. These are signs of loving care. The ministry that we do at church and in the world build up the body, and let us partner with the Spirit to see wonders of God spread endlessly.

Let us heartily celebrate the building up of Grace Church’s body through God’s Wonder. Come to the Stew-

ardship Dinner, Sunday, November 3 at 5:00 p.m. Come also to the Special Program On Sunday, Novem-

ber 17 for Breakfast and Meeting at 9:00 a.m. and our Combined Eucharist 10:15 a.m. This will be a

day of Vestry and Delegate elections, a presentation of our Parish Missional Direction, and an Ingathering

for Stewardship Pledges. God is calling us into a wonderful ministry and future together. God’s wonders truly

never cease.

EYC is recruiting for

Dinner Donations! Would you consider providing food or sponsoring a night of food for our youth? For the “takeout talented”, a $30 donation via check to Grace Epis-copal Church with “Youth Meals” in the memo line feeds 10-15 youth and sponsors each week. For the “master chefs” who prefer to make dinner for the group Wednesday nights at 6:30, a sign up sheet is posted in the Parish Hall. Find a week that works for you and add your name and phone number. A representative from the program regularly calls those who sign up for meals the Monday before with a reminder. For more information on either option, please email Ryan Perry at [email protected].

Alvin Meals on Wheels Pet Friends is working alongside Alvin Meals on Wheels to assist clients by providing food for companion animals. Pet food is being delivered in two-week increments. Please consider sponsoring an animal today. For further details, please contact S. Wayne Mathis at 832-630-0651.

The Mis-sion and Outreach Council is sponsor-ing a Par-ish food

drive benefitting the Alvin Food Pantry. They really liked canned veggies, beans, pasta, tuna and rice, and they really appreciate foods that kids can come home from school and prepare on their own, so peanut butter, soup and canned fruit are also popular.

Reminder to Take 10 before and after worship. Consider sharing your gift of hospital-ity and contact Betty Havens, 8:00 Coor-dinator, or Jackie Chi ldres, 10:30 Coordinator.
