Nabakalebara Car festival National Service Camp-2015 From 14.7.2015 to 19.7.2015 and State Service Camp upto 27th July 2015 Venue : Jhadeswari Club, & LIC Colony UP School, Puri From last 31 years Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides is organising the National service camp on the occasion of World famous Car festival of Lord Jagannath. This year was the special year due to Nabakalebar of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. On this special occasion the service camp was organised by Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides, where 158 nos. of Rovers and Adult leaders from Assam, Maharastra, Chhatisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Western Rly, Eastern Rly., Southern Rly, Central Rly, Panjab, Rajsthan, Karnatak, Uttarakhand, N.S. Rly, Gujurat, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir along with 440 Rovers and adult leaders from Odisha participated in the service camp to render their service. 200 Scouts, Guides and Adult leaders from Puri district also attended the service camp for 3 days. The service camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of Odisha Dr. S.C. Jamir on 17.7.2015 in the presence of Hon’ble lady Governor Mrs. Almela Jamir, Sri Debi Prasad Mishra, Hon’ble Minister Industries, School and Mass Education, Sri Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Hon’ble Minister Health and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relation, Sri Bishnu Charan Das, State President, Vice President Sri Manoranjan Mohanty, State Chief Commissioner and National Vice President Sri Kali Prasad Mishra and many other dignitaries and district officials of Puri District Bharat Scouts and Guides. While giving welcome address Sri Mishra informed about the service which started from 14th July 2015. Immediately after camp flag hoisting participants marched to the grand road of Puri with placards and slogans for Swachh Bharat Sundar Bharat. From last one week, the Scouts and Guides ofPuri were engaged in cleaning seashore and nearbyarea.

From 15th morning onwards participantsstarted rendering their service in different static postswith first aid service, spraying water to public andcouncelling and sharing information to public. In thestatic posts drinking water also provided to devotees.

Apart from static post the deptt. of Health havea requirement of Rover volunteers to be stationed attheir temporary post of Health service.

30 stretcher units with first aider and 200Rovers with sprayer machine was deployed to attendpilgrims through out the 3 k.m. long grand road. Agroup of Rovers and Scouts were posted under Policedeptt. for traffic control and crowed management.

Hon’ble Ministers praised activities of OdishaState Bharat Scouts and Guides for organising thisservice camp with a large numbers of Rovers from theState and outside states. Hon’ble Governor whileaddressing the gathering appreciated the service whenRovers with 200 nos. sprayer, 30 stretchers and 110 firstaid kits marched before him. He advised all for theirhigh humanitarian service in Car festival of LordJagannath. Sri R.M. Dora, State Secretary organised themeeting and District Education officer, Puri conveyedvote of thanks.

The same service will be repeated duringBahuda yatra on 26th and during sunabesh as on 27th.In between Rovers and Scouts/Guides of Puri town aremanaging serving camp with a static post at GundichaTemple.
