The Next Step to Success

The Education Regulation which Estate

Agents must comply with says:

“An intern agent is given a period of 12 months

after the date of issue of their 1st Fidelity

Fund Certificate in which to complete an

internship period. During this time a logbook

(portfolio of evidence) must be completed

and submitted to the EAAB (Estate Agency

Affairs Board) at the end of the 12-month

period for assessment.

The logbook must be completed by any

persons who entered the Industry after the 1st

January 2013. (NO EXEMPTIONS)

A brand new agent with no relevant

industry experience cannot complete

the qualification through RPL

Whether the RPL process is followed

or learnership process the same

qualification is obtained NQF4 59097

During this period with a further extension

of 12 months an NQF4 59097 real estate

qualification needs to be obtained from an

accredited services SETA training provider.

THE NQF4 59097 QUALIFICATION CAN BE OBTAINED THROUGH 2 DIFFERENT LEARNING PROCESSES:

R P L (Recognit ion Of Pr ior Learning)

If the agent has been in the industry for

a period of 12 months or longer and has a

successful track record or has been in a

relevant industry and can prove that learning

has taken place then they will qualify to obtain

their qualification through the RPL route.

However (PLEASE NOTE), it is at the discretion

of the training provider to do an assessment

to see if this process can be followed.

Learnership

Any agent entering the industry for the

1st time must complete the qualification

through a learnership. It consists of classroom

interaction and workshops and the evidence/

compilation of the portfolio is completed in

modules.

* Please Note:

If you hold a higher relevant

qualification you can apply to the

EAAB for an exemption against the

NQF4/5 qualification. The information

for the exemptions is available on the

EAAB portal as well as a list of which

Qualifications would qualify you for the

exemption. A fee is payable to the EAAB

when applying for the exemption.

Once the logbook has been completed

and successfully assessed and the NQF4

59097 qualification has been obtained

and proof has been sent to the EAAB

your final step is to write the 4-hour

Professional Designation Exam (PDE).

The exam is written through the EAAB

and exams are held 4 times a year. When

you have passed the exam, your status

is then updated from intern to full status

agent on your Fidelity Fund Certificate.

You then can put the status of PPRE on

your business card which stands for -

Property Practitioner Real Estate
