A WORD FROM THE PASTOR
At our Council of Steward meeting last
week, we announced that our Charge
Conference (the annual meeting of our
church) will be held early in November. The
exact time and date will be determined by
our district office.
One of the main things we will be doing
at this conference is to confirm the election
of those who will be nominated our Lay
Leadership Team to serve in the coming
year. We would like to know how you are
being called to serve God through our
church.
In this newsletter is an Interest Form
which we would like for your to complete
and turn into the church office by
Wednesday, Sept. 4. Doing this will help us
place the right person in the right place so
that the all the ministries of our church will
thrive and be fruitful.
In anticipation of your responses, I
thank you for doing this and as always ... I
will see you on Sunday, if not before.
Grace and Peace, Bro. Paul
Welcome from the UMM!
All are welcome to join with us, the United Methodist Men.
We meet on the third Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Our next meeting will be September 15, 2019.

UNITED METHODISTWOMEN
United Methodist Women—
A Sisterhood of Grace
Our August meeting was busy, busy, busy! Mary Jane Miller presented a program on her new book about her rescue dog, and Circle 8 provided a salad feast. During the business part of the meeting, we voted to have our annual bazaar! Start working on your items for the craft room and choosing your recipes for the food booth. The Friday before Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!
Our September meeting on Sept. 10 will be our annual World Thank Offering and Racial Justice programs presented by Circle 7 who will also be in charge of our lunch. The Executive Committee meets at 10:15 followed by the general meeting at 11:00. Remember all women of our church are members of the UMW. At 1:00 we will hold our first bazaar planning session.
Eight of us traveled to St. Mark’s UMC on August 17 for our mini-retreat. Mary Jane Miller was the featured speaker. She concentrated on the life lessons she has learned from her bee hives. Mary Jane is a moving speaker who challenges us to be in the world living our Christian values.

To My Church Family,
Thank you for the many
acts of kindness during my
recent surgery.

On behalf of the Trustees we are looking for a person or persons to serve God through the Stewardship of Recycling. This person or persons would work with the church Sexton on a weekly basis to remove and transport materials to the designated places.
On behalf of the Trustees another need to serve God and the church is a person or persons who would take responsibility to open and close the church as scheduled on the church calendar.
These are important areas of service and we urge you prayerful consideration.
Please contact David Pitner

Dear Church Family,
Thank you very much for all of the kindnesses and concerns that each of you have given me during my recent illness. You have made my recovery much easier through your love and prayers.
