The interaction among cohort members (was) dynamic and inspiring. I
feel like a more prepared manager with knowledge and skills to enforce a
healthier work environment.
Program
Highlights:
What Past Participants
Say The wonderful cohort gelled from Day 1. We were able to be open
about (the) challenges and opportunities of working in New York City
government.
The entire course went well. It was informative and engaging.
I loved the personal information I discovered in classes 1-2, the social cues learned in class 3, the
technical information . . . the importance of networking, legacy building, and communicating.
It was great to network with such a group of motivated and
committed managers from across the City.
The topics were very relevant for emerging City government
leaders.
Throughout (the Academy), I learned a lot about myself and take with me the techniques
which I can apply in everyday situations.
I thought the cohort worked very well together both in
formal and informal discussion.
The Academy curriculum was very well designed. I learned a great deal about
myself and how I am perceived by others. I gained insight into project
management, as well as hands-on experience with data analytics. By far the best
and most valuable part of the program was the week-by-week interaction with my
peers in the cohort.
I loved that I had one day a week to educate myself and focus on
improving my management abilities. I will miss having that
dedicated and structured time for self-improvement.
The concepts throughout the program provided
wonderful opportunities to learn new ways to
think and approach problems that affect all of
us day-to-day.
I met dedicated and passionate people, from numerous
City agencies, can assist me projects in the future.
6
Overall, the program was great. The topics were educational,
informative, and interesting.
