Pupils of the sixt h grade presented a play "Christ­mas at Grandmothers", w hich was a typical family ga thering ;:U'ound the tree. Mrs. Elva K. Bogia, War Bond Cha ir­man, at the Krebs School, reports sales this week of $388.40. Mrs. Elsi e Lynch 's fifth grade r oom was h igh with pur­chases of $80.55. Rooms having 100 per­cent of the pupils purchasing were Miss Betty Newton's second grade; Mrs. Lynch's fifth; Miss Gray's sixth ; Miss Florence Moore's seventh and Mrs. Ma r­garet Ford's eighth gr ades. Mrs. Bogia reports that the total amount of bonds ijld in the school during the Six th lar Bond Drive was $6,745.20. Total !ales in the school since September

On Thursday eve ning, Dec. 28th, the Men's Club of S t. J ames P. E . Church will meet in the Parish House a t 8 p . m ., al which time there will be a showing of motion pictures taken on Bob Cat Island. The pictures will be shown by William Milne of Silview. The group will enjoy a social hour, brief business session, and Elmer Smallwood, Chair­man, wi ll provide refreshments for the guests.

The Women's Society of Chris tian Service of the Newport MeUlodist Church presented Chr istmas gifts of baskets containing candy, cookies, fruit, Cigarettes and playing cards to the hos­pita l pat ients at the New Castle County Army Air Base. The baskets were dis­tributed through the Chaplain's office.

On Wednesday evening, the Newport Methodist Sund ay School entertainment was held, with each department pre­senting n portion of the program. Gifts Were exchanged among the teachers and children of the school, and the I Sunday School presented George L . Biddle, Superin tenden t, with a War Bond. A gift of $100 was p resen ted to the Rev. and Mrs. P aul E. McCoy.
