26 WEEKS CLUB” Congratulations to Pat Venezia, $50 winner of the sixth of 26 drawings pulled on December 18th!

Let us not let the old year die without burying any old grudges.

Church Parking! What a hassle! Now that the Season is upon us, church parking at some of the masses can be challenging. Please read the following:

• Please only park in designated parking spaces, even if you have a handicapped plate or sign.

• If walking is not an issue for you, park away from the church and let those with mobility issues have the closer spaces.

• Please do not park in the Methodist church parking lot. The spaces are for their members and they have asked us to respect their people.

• If you are late, and the lot is full, you can park on the grass along the road. Be sure your car is completely off the road. You can be ticketed if it is not.

• You may also park in the parish office/friary parking lot. There are about 25 spaces over there.

• Come early and you won’t have any of the issues mentioned above!

Thanks for your cooperation. Fr. Mark

COFFEE AND PASTRY - 1ST AND 3RD SUNDAY AFTER THE 9:30 AM MASS

In an effort to mingle and strengthen our St. Lucie Family, you are invited to enjoy coffee and pastry served in the Parish Hall on the first and third Sundays of the month following the 9:30 AM Mass. This is our opportunity to avoid the race in the parking lot and enjoy the fellowship.

PARISH BREAKFASTS – 2ND AND 4TH SUNDAYS OF THE MONTH

Except for Christmas, our wonderful Knights of Columbus breakfasts are served from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. For $7 for adults, and with reduced prices for children, enjoy: eggs, bacon, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, pastry, juice & coffee. Support our parish and have a wonderful breakfast. Remember, on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month, the Knights serve breakfast in their own council building located at 451 SW Ravenswood Lane.

PRAYER CHALICE FOR VOCATIONS Our “traveling” Prayer Chalice makes a weekly journey to parishioner homes. Volunteers take the Prayer Chalice at any one of the Sunday Masses, bring it home, place it in a visible location within the home, and pray daily before it with prayers to promote vocations within the Church. The chalice must be returned by 9:00 AM on Sunday so that it is available for the next volunteer family. Prayers will accompany the chalice but one may opt to pray other prayers. Prayer is a beautiful way to keep vocation intentions strong as our heavenly Father calls to hearts. Contact Loretta Barnes at 878-1215 if interested in signing up for a particular week. You select the week.

2018 Mass Intentions

AVAILABLE BEGINNING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2016 Announced Mass Intentions for the year 2018 will be available beginning Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 8:30 AM in the parish office located at 425 SW Irving Street. The office opens at 8:30 AM. Intentions will be available until 4:15 PM. (Monday through Friday). An “announced” Mass intention means the Mass you select will have a specific date and time in the year 2015 and will be celebrated here at St. Lucie Parish. We do the best to have this intention published in the Sunday bulletin. Requests for Mass Intentions will not be taken by phone. In fairness, service will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. In order to expedite your requests, there will be envelopes for available Masses in 2017. These envelopes will be placed in boxes according to dates and times. One individual at a time will have the opportunity to pull envelopes of their choice, complete the required information by clearly printing the information requested, and return it to the front desk. Mass Intention donations are $15.00 per Mass Intention. In fairness to all, families are limited to no more than twelve intentions but are welcome to return after thirty days for the remainder of your mass selections. (Checks should be made payable to St. Lucie Catholic Church). Keep in mind that “unannounced” Mass Intentions are always available. “Unannounced” means that a Mass will be celebrated for your loved one but the date and time cannot be made available. One of our priests, a missionary or retired priest is given unannounced Mass Intentions to celebrate at his own discretion. Your donation is also given to the priest celebrating your Mass. We ask for your patience since the process of booking “Mass Intentions” can be a lengthy one. We look forward to serving you. Thank you!

BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG In order to express our support and encouragement to women and families in crisis pregnancies, our parish will participate in a Baby Bottle Fundraiser for the Pregnancy Care Center. During the weekend of January 14th and 15th, please take a baby bottle home with you as you leave Mass. During the next few weeks, try to fill the bottle with your spare change. We will ask for the bottles to be returned on weekend of January 28th and 29th. Thank you for your participation!

WE LOVE BABIES! We love babies and believe that families should come to church together. It’s really the best way for kids to learn how to behave in church. However, if your baby or toddler is really causing a distraction to the people seated around you, the lector, or the priest, please take him or her into the chapel, or narthex, or out to the rotunda for a few minutes to calm down. Then return to church. Thank You!
