The name NOVIO is taken from “Noviomagus Reginorum” the old Roman name for Chichester meaning “new market place” to resonate with SEND Local Offer legislation.
NOVIO was one of the first hubs to be established in 2013. The working party meet every Tuesday, led by the representatives from the three Special Schools. (Littlegreen; Fordwater and St Anthony’s).

RESOURCESNOVIO’s human resources are a strength. Between the three schools there is a
wealth of knowledge about SEND that can be utilised to support settings and provide training. This in turn provides other settings with more knowledge and understanding. Practical resources are shared as appropriate.
The Working Party meet weekly and the Strategic Group meet termly. The Strategic Team includes a representative for 16-25; a Governor from the bank school and Parent Partnership.
NOVIO is supported by the three special schools, two Primary SSC’s (Barnham and Parklands) and the SENCO’s. There is a strong working relationship with the Education Psychology Service and the Social Communication Team.
NOVIO have also used a range of partners including the LA advisory service; Blue Flag Alliance; Parent Partnership and Parent Carers Forum to support training needs.
Established links through attending the SENCO groups is planned to continue as it is a way of finding out what is needed in Area A. Attendance at Early Years PARMS and local Health Authority meetings are also a priority. Liaison with O-5 and 16-25 partners is also important to maintain strategic links and provide relevant up to date information.
