The River Volga starts in Europe

The Rhine is one of the longest and most important rivers in Europe. It runs for over 1,232 km (766 miles) from its source in the in the Swiss Alps.

The River Thames is Great Britan’s second longest river. It replaced the earlier suspension bridge built by William Tierney Clarke in 1827 (at a cost of £85,000), which has the honour of being the first suspension bridge built in London.

The Amazon produces approximately 20 percent of all the water that the world's rivers pour into the oceans on its own.

                        

                In flood season, the

Amazon widens to cover its banks and the islands in the middle of the

river. The sediment left by

the floods enriches the soil.
