Q | how much do Bindomatic thermal binding machines cost?

a | The Bindomatic® 5000 retails for €890. The Bindomatic® 7000 retails for €5,950. Please contact a Document Specialist for information regarding packages and discounts that could save you money when bundling with covers.

Q | how hot does the heating element get on the machines?

a | The Bindomatic® 5000 and Bindomatic® 7000 heat up to a temperature of 165˚C and have a binding time of ~ 60 seconds. When using the Bindomatic® 5000, an indication tone will identify when the heating cycle is over. This will inform you to remove the cover and place it on the cooling stand. When using the Bindomatic® 7000 or the 9000, covers are already cool when exiting from machine.

Q | Which printers will support the printing of the print on demand covers?

a | There are many digital printers that will print on our Print On Demand covers. The printer must be approved for coated stock and be able to handle SRA3.

Q | What are the warranties for the Bindomatic® 5000 and 7000?

a | The Bindomatic® 5000 has a one-year warranty, barring any misuse or mishandling, at no charge.

The Bindomatic® 7000 has a one-year warranty, barring any misuse or mishandling, at no charge.

This warranty does not cover any damage to material or equipment caused by fire, accident, theft intrusion, misuse, attempted unauthorized repair services, modifications or improper installation.

Extended warranty service contracts for up to 5 years is offered for all machines.

The Bindomatic® 5000 is a powerful, manually operated binder designed to meet any document format demand with spine lengths up to 370 mm. Bind documents as thick as 54 mm, soft covers, hard covers; this binder will bind them all and do it stronger and more effectively than any comparable manual binding system on the market, around 10 documents per minute.

If you need to remove, replace or add sheets, simply re-heat the binding. With the wide range of Bindomatic® covers, your business presentations, reports, proposals, statements, manuals etc, will always look and feel as professional as the content and message of your document.

The slide manually expands and contracts depending on your document size and quantity of covers in a binding cycle.

Step-by-step, easy to follow instructions are on every Bindomatic® 5000.

Once a document is placed here, the binding plate reaches an optimal temperature to melt the glue strip in the cover, securely binding your pages.

An indicator light, activated by a Bindomatic cover, shows when the heating surface is on.

Timer indicates how long the document needs to stay on the binding plate

1. Determine spine size using guide on cooling rack.

2. Place document pages in a Bindomatic cover, with the correct spine size, and align.

3. Bind one or several documents at a time by placing the cover — spine side down — on the heating plate.

4. Wait for the machine to signal that the thermal binding process is complete. Remove the bound document(s) from the heating plate. Allow the finished document(s) to rest — spine side down — in the cooling rack for two minutes before opening.

1. insert the set of papers to be bound in the automatic cover size selector. The display will show the correct cover spine width to use.

Documents are transported through the binder. The fully automated thermal binding process includes heating/cooling of glue and paper jogging/aligning and is com pleted in 2 minutes.

Q | how do i make sure that all of the sheets are securely bound?

a | The Bindomatic binding method is the strongest binding method on the market for what is known as thermal binding. The binding is typically 4-5 times stronger than comparable solutions such as tape-binding, ring-binding, coil-binding, wire-binding, spiral-binding, etc.

Q | how much do thermal covers cost?

a | Our standard covers retail for €0.99 per cover, the Print on Demand for €1.15 per cover and our Ambassador hard covers for€4.99 per cover. There are volume discounts for large quantities.

Q | can you edit the document once it is bound?

a | Yes you can! Remove or add pages multiple times.

Q | How do you find page count for heavier stock paper or glossy paper?

a | The easiest way is to use the measuring device that is integrated in the cooling rack of the Bindomatic® 5000; or the measuring device integrated in the body of the Bindomatic® 7000/9000. Take your document and measure using these rulers to ensure you use the cover with the correct spine size.

Q | Why doesn’t Bindomatic keep landscape, oversized and smaller covers in stock? Why is the turnaround time longer when these are ordered?

a | On average, 98% of our customers order portrait orientation, A4 covers. Bindomatic keeps 100% of our standard stock in-house. Non-standard sizes and orientations require a longer lead time since production’s time allocation is mainly for standard stock.
