Peace in the New Year. Who would not want an overall state of well-being, a sense of harmony with God and
with others, freedom from anxiety, and a settled sense of
confidence and joy no matter what is going on with their life? This is what “shalom,” “peace” means. A right rela-
tionship with Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), is
what will allow you to experience this peace. How do you maintain a right relationship with Jesus? Here are a few
suggestions:
Set aside everyday time in the Word of God and for
prayer. Do this before ESPN, television, facebook,
email, newspaper. Meditate (prayerfully think through, process) what God
is showing you in his Word.
Obey God. “...the gracious hand of God was on him. For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and obser-
vance of the Law of the LORD” (Ezra 7:9, 10)
Worship with other believers regularly. “Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping
out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but
spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24, 25)
Only a right relationship with our Lord will give you that
wholeness of life, the peace of Jesus Christ. “I am leav-
ing you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be
troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)
May you experience the peace of our Lord this New Year.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS!
Sunday, January 1st, We will be taking a spe-cial offering to aid those in Iligan City and Ca-gayan de Oro who were devastated by the flooding on Dec. 17th. The death toll has climbed to nearly 1500 and many are still missing. Thousands have been left homeless. 54,000 people are in evacuation cen-tres around the affected area, while thousands of others are staying with friends and relatives, but all are in need of assistance.
Government officials estimate 600,000 have been effected by the natural disas-ter. Dec. 28th, fresh flooding in the towns of Barobo and Bislig, San Francisco, and Va-lencia have caused thousands more to be evacuated from their homes.
