Better Than A Thousand Words....

I am really happy to see that the importance of the photojournalism is reaching in its highest level, as a fast growing trend. It was in fact of some personalities in Kerala, brought the impor-tance of photojournalism as profession. Victor George, Santhosh Joseph, Mohan Das were one of the great inspired photographers for the fast growth profession in photography-journalism in Kerala. Photo journalism is what, telling news or explaining an event or a fact in a better way within a frame. A photograph can tell a thousand words within a limited space.

People started recognizing the importance of pictures in newspaper, when Victor George brought out his powerful images to the audi-ence. Most of his pictures had to tell a story, than a story explain. The captivating shots of the plump, animated mother of swimmers Anita and Kavita Sood cheering them from the gallery during the women`s 400 metre freestyle brought Victor a holds of awards and instantaneous ap-preciation, as did his frame of the Indian relay team dropping the baton in a disastrous finish at the South Asian Federation Games, Kolkata in 1989.

I was very much inspired after I went threw some of the important photographs as part of my hobby. It is interesting to see that people with their creativity bringing wonderful work as part of their interest in photographs. I surely believe that this kind of photographs can bring even changes in the mind of people, when it comes as part of journalism.Photojournalism has grown up to its matured stage and of course it will be an opportunity to many people, to prove their in-ventiveness to take amazing photographs for the better growth of photojournalism and to have a profession of their own.
