LITANY OF DEDICATION Pastor: Parents, do you promise, in dependence upon divine grace, and in partnership with the church, to teach these

children the truths and responsibilities of the Christian faith; and by prayer, precept, and example to raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord?

Parents: We do.

Pastor: Hear these words of commitment from your family of faith.

People: We, as members of this family of God, acknowledge and accept the responsibility, together with the parents, of teaching and training these children; that, being brought up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, they may be led in due time to trust Christ as Savior, confessing Him as Lord in baptism, and come to membership and full commitment to Christ’s Church.

Lord, for the gift of children, we come to give You praise; we bring them here before You as they begin their days.

Each one is loved and precious, yet they are not our own; we give them back in faith, Lord, and trust Your grace alone.

We promise to be faithful and teach them all Your ways. Help us to live before them lives they can only praise.

Though they will not remember what we have done this day, each day we'll shape their future by all we do and say.

Now as we grow together, help us to honor You, as we affirm each other through all we say and do.

Then when our children leave us, we'll trust Your Word and pray that what You teach they'll follow, and never turn away.
