Margaret Aprison Manager Analytics Team, Golin Margaret Aprison is a Manager of Analytics at Golin, a globally recognized integrated communications agency. Alexandra Brown Senior Account Executive, FleishmanHillard

Alexandra Brown is a senior account executive at global public relations agency FleishmanHillard. She provides strategic counsel, develops content and written materials, and conducts media outreach on a local and national scale for clients including RSM US LLP and Ascension Health. In 2015, Brown co-founded the Get Involved initiative in the FleishmanHillard Chicago office, aiming to bring together employees across different practice groups to give back to the community. Outside of the office, she runs lifestyle blog Shelosophy, which aims to empower women to live their best lives, and sits on the junior board of non-profit My Favorite Outfit.

She studied public relations at IU and earned a degree in journalism.

Tonya Butler Professor of Music Industry Studies, Minnesota State University

Tonya Butler, J.D., LL.M. is an educator, professional speaker, author, and entertainment industry advocate. She was recently a Professor of Entertainment Business at the famed Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, CA; an Associate Professor of Music Business in the Recording Industry Department at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and a form Coordinator of the Music Business Program at the University of Memphis. She holds a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law and a Master of Laws in Entertainment and Media from Southwestern University School of Law and Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, England. As a former Music Attorney and Record Label Executive Butler's work

experience is comprehensive. Her numerous legal and business affairs credits include compilation album, film, and sound licensing for Rhino Records, contract work for MGM films and television shows, marketing and promotion on a variety of Pioneer Entertainment albums projects and legal representation for several major and independent entertainment companies. Professor Butler has served on the Memphis Shelby County film and Television Commission, the Memphis Rock 'N Soul Museum Board of Directors and the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Associations (MEIEA) Executive Board. She is a voting member and former two-term Governor of Memphis Chapter of the Recording Academy and is Chair Emeritus of the Memphis and Shelby County Music Commission.

Colin Carter Creative Director/CEO, Mode Project

Colin Carter is an award winning editor, creative director and founding principal of Mode Project, a Chicago-based design, animation and content production studio. Colin tells meaningful stories through film and animation for a wide range of clients including global brands, entertainment networks, higher education and non-profit causes. Colin and his team were creative partners to the 2008 presidential campaign

of Barack Obama, directing the design of the iconic Obama logo, and editing hundreds of broadcast ads and associated content. Recognition includes two Cannes Lions Grand Prix Awards, Broadcast Design Association Gold Awards, The New York Festivals World Medals and Emmy and Telly awards.

Ryan Cost Senior Producer, Full Story Foundation Ryan Cost, BAJ ’06, is a senior producer at the Full Story Foundation –an educational non-profit that creates a variety of content across multiple platforms, specifically documentary films and long-form television programming. From 2011 until June 2016, Cost worked for The Blaze, where he was a writer and senior producer for the network’s investigative newsmagazine show For The Record. He also worked as a writer and producer for The Blaze documentary films division. In 2015, Cost wrote and produced the documentary Never Again Is Now, which chronicles the troubling rise of anti-

Semitism in Europe. The film will be screened at the Media School on November 10th. From 2006-2010, Cost was producer/reporter and student manager for Palestra.net/UWIRE –an online network of college journalists that delivered content to ESPN, Fox Sports, CNN, and Fox News. While at IU, Cost worked for the IDS, WTIU, WFIU, and WIUX.

Eric Deggans TV Critic, NPR

Eric Deggans is TV critic, journalist, political commentator and author. Deggans worked at the Tampa Bay Times, formerly the St. Petersburg Times, for 18 years. While at the Times, he was a member of the editorial board, wrote bylined opinion columns and worked as a TV critic and media writer. In 2013, Deggans was named NPR’s first full-time TV critic. He also appears on various news networks, speaking on race issues in the media. Deggans’ book, Race Baiter: How the Media Wields Dangerous

Words, examines how the media perpetuate prejudice.

Julie DiCaro Anchor: The Score, CBS Julie DiCaro is a graduate of Ernie Pyle School of Journalism and DePaul University College of Law. After working as a criminal defense and family law attorney for 15 years, she switched career paths and began working as a sportswriter and broadcaster. She has written for publications such as Sports Illustrated, Fansided, Nerdist, and Deadspin, and currently works as an update anchor and fill-in host on 670 The Score Sports Radio in Chicago.

Alex Dierckman Producer, WRTV-TV

Alex is a producer at WRTV in Indianapolis and currently produces the RTV6 News at 11:00. She previously produced RTV6 News at Noon where she increased the show's energy and ratings over the course of a year. Alex graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington in May 2015. While immersed as a full time student, Alex worked part-time at Indiana Public Media (WTIU and WFIU News) as a multimedia journalist and anchor.

Hugh Donkin Video Editor, Blueline Media Productions With a strong background in film photography, Hugh grew up shooting on a Arista 400, an out-of-manufacture black and white film. Over the years, he has found a special love of unusual photography techniques, such as voyeur shooting styles, pinhole cameras, double exposures, and specialty lenses. Anamorphic, soft focus style of Paul Thomas Anderson films like Magnolia or Hard Eight spark significant inspiration when he’s pairing visual storytelling with written or vocal storytelling.

Gary Doyle Senior Vice President/Group Creative Director, Cramer Krasselt A Chicagoan, Doyle wrote for the Opinion Board and edited the Arts page on the IDS while at IU, and was an editor at Indianapolis Magazine upon graduation. But his career path eventually led to advertising. Doyle is a Senior Vice President/Group Creative Director at Cramer Krasselt, the second-largest independent advertising agency in the United States. His clients include Porsche, Edward Jones Investments, NPR, and the Alzheimer's Association. His work for his clients spans broadcast, digital, social and branded content, and has been recognized by Communication Arts, the One Show, the Effies, the Webbys and the London International Film

Ilyssa Fradin National Vice President SAG-AFTRA, 1st VP Chicago Local, actor Ilyssa Fradin has been a professional Union performer for over 20 years. Tucker Gragg Video Director, Blueline Media Productions

Based out of Bloomington, Indiana, Tucker considers himself very lucky to be able to do something he loves for a living. Andy Hall Executive Director, Wisconsin Center Investigative Journalism Andy Hall won multiple awards in his 25 years as a reporter before founding the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, where he is executive director. The nonprofit center, which trains young journalists, focuses on government integrity and quality of life issues. Hall began his journalism career at the New York Times after graduation. He reported at the Arizona Republic and the Wisconsin State Journal, holding government officials accountable and exposing injustices in the public school system.

He has received widespread recognition for his work, including National Headliner, Gerald Loeb and Inland Press Association awards. In his time at IU, Hall was editor-in-chief of the Indiana Daily Student.

Laura Hilker VP of Business & Creative Development, PUNCH Films Laura Hilker is the VP of Business and Creative Development at PUNCH Films. Hilker develops scripted content for TV, film & digital. From 2005 to 2015, Hilker worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles at such companies as FOX, Fox Television Animation, and Michael Eisner's production company, The Tornante Company. She produced The Cleveland Show’s promo for the 2007 Upfronts in New York City and did voices for the series. Hilker helped Tornante launch its animated series for Netflix, BoJack Horseman. She loves stories, traveling, and sleuthing. Angela Lansbury is her hero.

Andrew Lennie Senior Producer, WGN-TV Andrew Lennie is a senior producer with WGN-TV in Chicago. He is in charge of formulating WGN’s social media tactics and strategy, including the day-to-day management of several accounts on a variety of platforms and working with on-air talent to increase engagement. He is also responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing on-air and social branding campaigns for WGN-partner brands the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks. A Chicago native, he is a 3-time Emmy winner and graduate of Indiana University.

Joe Linstroth Executive Producer, Stateside- Michigan Radio (NPR) Joe Linstroth is the executive producer of Stateside, the daily news magazine at Michigan Radio, the state's largest NPR affiliate. Prior to that, he was the founding senior producer of the daily show at WKAR (Lansing, MI) and a producer at WBEZ (Chicago). His 2015 story on Michigan State University's handling of sexual assault cases won numerous awards including the McCree Award for the Advancement of Justice (MI Bar Assoc.) and a regional Edward R Murrow for investigative reporting.

He has a BA in history from the University of Michigan and an MA in journalism from IU.

Marsha Lovejoy Global Manager of External Corporate Communications, Cook Medical

Marsha Lovejoy is the Global Manager of External Corporate Communications at Cook Medical. She leads a global team that creates and communicates to customers, employees, industry analysts, and government agencies. Specializing in crisis communications and issue management, Marsha is responsible for public relations, social media, media relations, reputation

management and crisis communications strategy for Cook Medical and affiliate Cook companies. Prior to Cook, Marsha interned at Hirons & Company, a full service advertising and PR agency based out of Indianapolis. Scott Neslund Executive Vice President of Client Services, Centro Scott Neslund is the EVP of Client Services at Centro, a leading provider of intelligent media software and services for agencies, publishers, and advertisers. DeAntae Prince NBA Producer, Sports Illustrated DeAntae Prince is an NBA producer for Sports Illustrated. He previously spent four years with Sporting News, where he held a number of positions, including NBA Editor and Senior Digital Editor. A Chicago loyalist and Indiana '10 graduate, he prides himself on attending the same high school (Thornridge) and college as Quinn Buckner.

Adriana Rabunski Digital Video Producer, CNN

Adriana Rabunski graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University and went on to work as an editorial associate and researcher at The Economist magazine. Choosing to pursue a career in video, she started working at VICE Media as a translation coordinator and associate video producer. After several years with the company, Adriana received a role as a producer at CNN Digital Studios, which focuses on creating sponsored video content for CNN.com, mobile and social channels. She currently researches, shoots and edits stories related to technology, medicine, health and the environment. Adriana’s work includes “Pioneers,” a video series about

cutting-edge technology, “The Future of Adventure,” and topical pieces tied to the news cycle. She is currently working on a series about women in the Military, which will profile subjects who are redefining the role of the female “fighter” in real time. Work samples:

Ben Rabunski VP/Director Digital Revenue, Turner Ben began his career at Yahoo where he helped fortune 500 brands market themselves with search marketing and display advertising. He was then hired at CBS as Digital Account Executive where he was selling CBS, CW and CBS Radio digital assets. At Adgent Digital, Ben sold the first instream display ad placement curating twitter content in real-time. He then went on to lead a sales team, launching a global business at The Economist. He has been working at Turner for 2.5 years partnering with advertisers on CNN, CNNMoney and Great Big Story. Within Turner, he also is the national lead for Team Conan, TBS and TNT.

Ben is responsible for generating revenue via tablet, video, branded content, desktop/mobile sponsorship, social and programmatic platforms. Below are a few large programs he has won over the past 3 years at CNN and The Economist.

Jon Savitt Freelance Writer Jon Savitt is a writer and proud IU alumnus who graduated in 2014 with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. Matt Smith Senior Account Executive, Edelman Matt Smith is a senior media executive with the Media Center of Excellence in Edelman’s Chicago office. Since joining the firm in January 2013 he has provided support for a wide array of accounts, including Darden Restaurants, Hilton, Jim Beam and Wrigley, amongst numerous pharmaceutical and health & wellness clients. He currently oversees the LongHorn Steakhouse (Darden) team, an account routed in media relations. Matt typically engages in materials development, media relations, research and planning for all of his clients. He recently led the Jim Beam new bureau, which generated coverage that eclipsed its

impressions goal by 181 percent and placements goal by 114 percent in 2015. Jared Solow Client Solutions Analyst, Comcast Media 360

Jared Solow is currently a Client Solutions Analyst at Spotlight360, a Division of Comcast Media 360 & Comcast, based in Indianapolis, IN. Jared joined Comcast in early 2014, where he currently works across the country with Local, Regional and National advertisers to go beyond basic age & gender targeting, to use digital data to better inform and execute their TV, Video On Demand, HH Addressable and Online campaigns. Jared graduated with a degree in Telecommunications and a minor in Business from Indiana University in 2011. While at IU, Jared was the Head of Marketing in 2010 and Co-Chair (with current panelist Margaret Aprison) in

2011, of MultiVisions Communications Conference – a Department of Telecommunications sponsored one-day conference, designed to offer students a preview of numerous career options in the media industry. After graduation, Jared became a Media Associate at Tapestry, a multicultural advertising agency division of Starcom MediaVest Group, in Chicago. While at Tapestry, Jared was responsible for media planning and buying for clients such as, Jim Beam, Best Buy, Red Lobster, Daisy Brand Sour Cream and Hillshire Brands. Brian Talbot CEO, Tandem Games Brian serves as the CEO of Tandem Games, a video game company in Austin, TX. He also runs The Value CMO, a fractional CMO and marketing consultancy serving the SMB marketplace. As a part of SAG-AFTRA for three decades, Brian is a working actor, on-camera and on the microphone. Hannah Ter Vree Post Supervisor, Tiny Hero Hannah Ter Vree is from Georgetown, Indiana—a small town just north of Louisville, Kentucky. In 2010 she graduated high school and began attending college at Indiana University. Hannah received her BA degree in telecommunications, with a minor in math and gender studies. During her study at IU, she joined the IUSTV News Department and began working as a graphic designer and technical producer. The following year, she became the Senior Producer, and alongside the News Director, was running the IUSTV News Department. In addition to her work at IUSTV, she took numerous high-level production courses. With an interest in post production, she became

the primary editor and motion graphics artist for her production courses. Furthermore, before her senior year, Hannah did an internship at Tiny Hero, an entertainment marketing company in Burbank, California. In 2014 Hannah graduated from IU and was offered an assistant editor position at Tiny Hero. With no hesitation, she moved across the country to Los Angeles to pursue her career. Although her initial desire was to be an editor, after working for about a year, she discovered that her interest was in supervising the post department. She was promoted to coordinator and shortly after, supervisor. Hannah continues to work at Tiny Hero as the post supervisor. The position entails many different tasks. Among these are, managing deadlines, relaying creative notes to and from clients, sending cuts to clients, prepping deliverables, and delivering final spots per technical specs. It is because of the opportunities provided by IU, the former telecom department, and her internship, along with the support of her friends and family that have contributed to such a successful start to her career. As Hannah continues to move forward in the industry, her goal is to become a producer in post production.

Jason Wadler, EVP/Chief Strategy Officer, Leapfrog Online & Chair, Leapfrog Marketing Institute

Jason worked with Leapfrog’s co-founders to build Leapfrog from a start-up into one of the largest performance marketing agencies in the country. In addition to his corporate development and strategy role at Leapfrog, Jason is the chair of the Leapfrog Marketing Institute, Leapfrog’s market research arm. Jason has over 25 years of corporate strategy and marketing expertise, having held senior-level roles at Townsend Agency, MediaOne/Comcast, Ameritech/AT&T and Discover Financial Services. Jason has been a featured speaker at industry events including Digiday, OMMA, the CMO Collective and the CMO Forum. His marketing perspectives have been published in Forbes,
