GROWS TEAMWORK
As fall comes around we are reminded of our 4-H roots. It is
a time for a new beginning. With 4-H enrollment starting
again we are saying goodbye to our graduating members
and saying hello to our new 4-H and Clover Kids members. It
is a great time to try new things, and to step out of our
comfort zone.
It is also a time to wrap up our 4-H projects throughout the
year by working on Record Books. They are a fantastic
chance to see how you have grown throughout the year. So
please take the time to work on a Record Book and
showcase all of your hard work throughout the year!!
Sincerely,
Come get your new 4-H shirt!
Our new design is in. The cost is
$10 per shirt. We have sizes
from youth small to adult 3XL.

County Youth Ambassadors
The first meeting of the new 4-H year for the Marshall
County Youth Ambassadors will be held on Sunday,
September 9th at 5pm at the Marshall County Extension
Office. If you are in 7-12th grade for the 2018-2019 school
year you should have received an invitiaton to join via mail.
Please consider joining this great leadership group!

Youth Ambassador Leaders
Save the Date!
The dates for the 2019 Central Iowa Fair are July 10-14!
Mark it on your calendars now!
Record Books:
I can not express how important
Record Books are. Not only for
culminating the end of your project
but it also helps with recording and
keeping track of your leadership
and volunteer information. SO
PLEASE encourage your kids to
complete them.
Club Record Book Challenge
New this year! To help encourage participation in
completing record books, we will
be having a club challenge. The
club who shows the most growth
in turning record books in will
receive a pizza or ice cream party,
sponsored by the Marshall County
4-H Foundation. So get working on those record books!!
Winner will be announced at Year End Celebration.
4-H Enrollment:
4-H enrollment will open on September 1st. Enrollment fees
for this year will be $20.00 from September 1st – November
15th. In order to get the discounted rate you must be
enrolled and PAID by November 15th. After November
15th the fee will raise to $30.00. If you have any questions
please do not hesitate to reach out to your club leader or the
extension office.
Poultry Place:
The Marshalltown Kiwanis PM Club Is looking for a few(4-5)
of the older 4-H members to help them move stuff for the
yearly yards sale at the fair grounds. They had to cancel last
springs yard sale and move it to September. This would be
a great community project for your record books.
They will need help on Sunday, September 16th around 9
a.m.... Lunch will be provided and the Kiwanis will make a
donation (or pay you for your time). The take down date will
be Saturday September 22nd at noon. Please let Renee
Anagnos know if you will be able to help either of these
days. All of this will take place at the Central Iowa
fairgrounds.
The Poultry Project Group will be holding a tip night Culver's
on Tuesday, October 9th at 5:00. They are looking for 3-4
volunteers that would be able to help. All of the money that
is raised will go into the poultry group funds, for continued
improvements in the poultry area at
the fairgrounds.
If you would like to purchase one fo
the poultry projects shirts that they
had last year please contact Renee
Anagnos. If they have enough
interest they will be placing another
round of shirts in the spring.
Renee Anagnos
Poultry Superintendent
Chick Incubation:
If you or someone you know is interested in hatching chicks
to show at the fair but do not have an incubator, please
contact Chelsea at the Extension office! We have one
incubator that we will loan out to 4-H members who would
like to have a hatching project. It is first come first serve so
please let Chelsea know if you would like to borrow it.
Chelsea’s email is [email protected].
New 4th Grade members:
If you were a previous clover kid member please remember
that you must switch the club that they are in. Once they
enter 4th grade they are no longer Clover Kids, for Example,
if they were in Haverhill Hustlers Clover Kids you need to
change them to Haverhill Hustlers 4-H Club.
If they are a new enrollment make sure they select the 4-H
club and not the clover kid group.
