1950’s Plot: A family moves to a remote town and starts to fall trap to weird things going on with the citizens Characters: Clara – A young teenage girl Robert – Clara’s father Bobby – Clara’s brother Jackson – One of the town residents who falls in love with Clara Lisha – The rebellion leader of the outskirts Mayor Geneva Coraline – The mayor of Briartown Run Down: The 1950’s. Clara and her family move to Briartown, a town located deep in the woods of Pennsylvania. Upon their arrival, Clara starts to notice strange things about the city. Vacant houses, people staring. One night she awakens in the middle of the night to the sound of a song being sung outside her window. She notices the town citizens meeting in the town square and her and her family run out to see what is going on. The lottery occurs and Clara and her family are shocked at what they’ve witnessed. They try to leave town but find that they cannot. The town mayor has restricted them to. Clara meets a young boy named Jackson at school one day and the two connect. Lottory occurs again, Bobby is revealed to be the chosen one. Clara learns that her father is the one who created the lottery in the first place and clara feels betrayed by him. She watches as they murder her brother and she runs off from the town, killing the mayor, and escaping with Bobby. In the forest they find a rebellion led by the Mayor’s sister.
