Each participant will receive guidance from Kwasnik and his team, as well as a Mariners training shirt to wear throughout their sessions and take home to mark their involvement.

Brazilian gives up in size, he sure makes up for in skill, and the capacity to score sublime goals. A former player of Dutch seaside club, Feyenoord Rotterdam, Henrique would best be captured by a mighty Mariner this afternoon. Naturally, we’d be happy to release him into the Brisbane Water after the game.
Simon departed the Mariners for K-League Classic outfit Jeonnam Dragons in 2012, but re-joined the Club in May 2013. Simon won the 2008 and 2012 Hyundai A-League Premierships with the Club, and shapes as a key player this afternoon. Simon’s bustling approach to the game is sure to have factored in Roar coach Frans Thijssen’s thinking ahead of today’s fixture. But as many coaches can attest, preparing a plan to stop Simon is easier said than done. He’s an unpredictable, passionate player who has the Mariners spirit surging through his veins, so it’s a fair bet that Matt Simon will have a significant impact on the Club’s final match of 2014!
20 lucky The Loose Cannon readers have scored a signed Matt Simon player card thanks to Shooting Star Sports Cards this afternoon. If you’re one of our 20 make sure you send a snap of yourself with the card to @CCMariners on Twitter, or e-mail your picture to [email protected].

Averaging a goal every four games since joining the Central Coast Mariners in 2006, productive front man Matt Simon has earned a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in the Hyundai A-League. A full Socceroo and 2008 Beijing Olympian, Simon’s rise to Hyundai A-League notoriety is the result of his unwavering commitment to fulfil his dream. Initially spotted playing amateur suburban football, Simon made the most of an opportunity to train with the Mariners in 2006. Since then, he has terrorised Hyundai A-League defenders with his grit and determination, as well as clinical striking skills.
Henrique made his debut as an injury cover player in early 2009 and has since become a firm fan favourite with the Suncorp Stadium faithful, who will forever remember him as the Brisbane Roar player who stepped up to slot home the winning penalty in the victorious Hyundai A-League 2011 Grand Final. In the 2014 Grand Final, Henrique again scored the winning goal - this time in extra-time as a substitute off the bench. There’s no doubting the ‘Slippery Fish’s’ capacity to wreak havoc on opposition teams, and at the point of going to print, he had already scored seven goals this Hyundai A-League campaign.
