• Why do we need a framework?– Lots of activity within LMI landscape– Requirements for robust LMI to inform policies– Opportunity to improve quality of statistics through co-

ordination and collaboration

• Delivery– Established the Scottish Labour Market Information

and Intelligence Review Project– Steering group based on Scottish Education, Skills

and LMI Roundtable group

Vision and purpose

VisionOur vision for the future is one in which Labour

Market Information and Intelligence is robust, useful and easy to find.

It is utilised by all relevant stakeholders and has high policy impact, enabling sustainable economic growth.

Purpose of the Framework

i. Clearly identify current LMI provision

ii. Provide LMI users with a common understanding of current provision and gaps

iii. Focus action to ensure LMI meets user needs

The LMI Framework will:
