It sure has been nice to have a little rain after such a dry spell. Anyway, we are truly a blessed people of God and we have so much to be thankful for. Tuesday was an exciting day. The students and faculty of the BIM were able to go to the 39 th Street Church of Christ lectureships in Independence, Missouri. We were able to hear 4 different speakers during the day, and our own brother Chuck was one of them. It is always great to have the opportunity and privilege to fellowship with brethren of like precious faith. It was also great to have brother Jim Barnes go with us, as well as a brother who visited with us Sunday whose name is Mike. We had a great time in this service to God. Let me also say that we certainly appreciate the 39 th Street congre- gation for the love for God and His Truth. In fact, the preacher Jack Williams is going to hold our Gospel meeting next month. In connection with our upcoming meeting, let me encourage us all to make plans to be a part. Also, let me encourage you to invite others to be a part of this time of study. There is no better place to be than with our brethren and friends worshiping God and learning more about his Word. Let’s pray for this upcoming time of encouragement and spiritual growth. Sunday was a great Lord’s day. It was certainly a blessing to have so many visitors; some we knew well and some we were blessed to meet for the first time. How wonderful it is to be God’s Children and to gather to Worship him; as well as to share our faith with those who visit with us. Once again, I was told by one of our visitors how friendly the congrega- tion was and how welcome they felt in being with us. Our Agape meal was also a great success on Sunday. It is always wonderful to share such time with our brethren and to catch up on one another’s daily lives. It is great to be a part of such a loving family here at Kansas Expressway. Finally, let me encourage you all to be prepared, present and ready to worship God this coming Sunday. We have the wondrous opportunity as Christians to come before God’s throne and to worship Him in spirit and truth. What a privilege it is to obey this uplifting commandment of God. I look forward to seeing you this Lord’s Day. God bless! *Ray Sullins*

ELDERS’ CORNER:DOES IT REALLY MATTER

WHAT RELIGION YOU PRACTICE? Only the right authority gives the right answer. The authority is not man (Jer. 10:23) nor what seemsright to man (Prov. 14:12). It’s not feelings, conscienceor creed books. The only right answer is God’s Word(2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:3). The question is not whatmatters to man, but rather, “what matters to God.” If itdoes not matter to God, then why did God demandreligious people to obey the Gospel (Acts 2, 8, 10, 16,22)? If it does not matter to God, then there are nofalse religions, doctrines and teachers. But the Biblereveals that such do exist (Matt. 7:15,21-23; Rom.16:17-18; 2 Pet. 2:1-2; 1 John 4:1).

When one reads the charge of the Great Commis-sion (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16), does not thatshow the Lord is not just interested in one practicing“religion“, but it is His Word that determines what weare to believe, obey and practice (Col. 3:17)? It mattersto God what we “believe in,” “belong to” and how we“live and worship.” It is His Way and only His Way thatleads to Heaven.
