competed in 3 different competitions. Congratulations to Mrs.Justice chapel family who won 2 of the 3 competitions and MissHitchcock's family for winning 1 competition.  Both families willreceive ice cream on Thursday, October 13th, at lunch.   Tuesday, October 13th ­ Students were given SWAG themedribbons to remind them to Stay away from Drugs!Wednesday, October 14th­ Chapel message reminded studentsabout SWAG Students Who Achieve Goals are Drug Free!Students received a lollipop.   Student Council has SWAG give aways planned for Zion studentson Thursday and Friday too!!

Achievement Testing

1st grade ­ 8th grade achievement testing will begin on Monday,October 24, 2016 and will continue through November 4, 2016.Be sure students get plenty of sleep and eats a good breakfastbefore they arrive so they can do their best. Please try to avoidscheduling appointments during testing times.

Five Ways to Do Well on Your Test

Follow test directions carefully. Read all of the answers before you choose one If you don'tknow an answer, make the best guess you can. Fill in the test bubbles completely. Stay relaxed­take some deep breaths. Remember it is important that students be at school duringour week of testing.

California Shake Out

Zion will participate in the Great CaliforniaShakeout on October 20th, at 10:20 AM.The Great California Shkeout is an annualopportunity to practice how to be saferduring big earthquakes: "Drop, Cover, andHold On." The Shakeout has also beenorganized to encourage you, yourcommunity, your school, or yourorganization to review and updateemergency preparedness plans and

supplies, and to secure your space in order to prevent damageand injuries.

 On Thursday, October 20th, the Fall Fundraiser Orders willbe delivered to your child's classroom. If you child will begoing to SAC, please fill out the form and return to yourchild's teacher by Monday, October 17th.

It is important that you check your order IMMEDIATELY. Ifadjustments need to be made, you must call the telephonenumber on your packing slip to report any problems or youmay send an email to the address on your packing slip. Besure to include the school name, the student name, teachername, and tell them what the problem is. Problems must bereported WITHIN 3 DAYS. It is imperative that corrections bereported immediately. Corrections will be shipped to theschool and delivered to your student in the classroom.
