This takes me back to my early days up Honeymoon Hollow. Sundays were set aside for the Lord’s Day. Other than Mommy and the girls fixing dinner there was not much to be done, Daddy fed the animals, we went to Sunday school and church, then Mommy would have a big din- ner for all the family. Mommy and Daddy would then go visit with the sick, either at home or at the hospital and nursing home. Us younger ones then would sit on the porch or play games or maybe if we were old enough we would go down to Uncle Bad Hair’s where every- one came to play softball. Every community had a place to gather and play; also, we would meet at the church and play softball or volley ball until time for youth meeting, then we would finish our day sitting around talking and playing, knowing that Monday would start an- other week of work, school, etc. Think back about your Sunday’s and how you spent them. For us up Honeymoon Hollow they were slower, simpler days full of fried chicken and Mommy’s homemade biscuits and time to talk to each other.
