The Ten CThe Ten CThe Ten CThe Ten Commandmentsommandmentsommandmentsommandments Exodus 20:1-17
And God spoke all these words, saying,
1. I am the LORD your God, which have brought you out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods
before me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any graven image, or any likeness of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is
in the water under the earth: You shall not bow down yourself to them,
nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands
of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD
will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor,
and do all your work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD
your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your
daughter, your manservant, or your maidservant, or your cattle, or the
stranger that is within your gates: For in six days the LORD made
heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the
seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and made it
holy.
5. Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon
the land which the LORD your God gives you.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit sexual sins.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not tell lies.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your
neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his
ass, or any thing that is your neighbor’s.

Words of Wisdom
from the book of
Proverbs, chapters 1 & 2
Proverbs 1:8 My son, hear the instruction of your father, and forsake not
the law of your mother.
Some teachers may cause you to sin or get into trouble. You must be
careful to always use the good ways that your father and mother teach
you that are based on the Bible.
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, consent not.
Your friends may sometime try to talk you into sinning, be careful and
don’t go along with them.
Proverbs 11-14 If they say “Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us
lurk privately for the innocent without cause: let us swallow them up alive
as the grave… we shall fill our houses with spoil: cast in your lot among us;
let us all have one purse.”
Do not go along with the gang or any group of people to do evil.
Proverbs 1:15 My son, walk not you in the way with them; refrain your foot
from their path.
Books like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are witchcraft and are
against God. They will cause you to walk away from God.
Proverbs 1:19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which
takes away the life of the owners thereof.
Many TV shows and Movies appear fun and entertaining, but they may be
teaching you sinful man’s values of good that are very sinful. Their main
purpose is to make money by teaching you to lust after things and do
sinful acts. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Proverbs 1:22 How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? And the
scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Video Games like Grand Theft Auto and many others teach hate, sexual
sins, murder and much more. Would you think Jesus, the one who created
this whole world and everything in it would enjoy playing a game that is
destroying the things He created? We should follow Jesus and His ways.
Proverbs 2:10-16 When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is
pleasant unto your soul; discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall
keep you: to deliver you from the way of the evil man… To deliver you
from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her
words.
This evil man, strange woman and stranger will lead you to sexual sins,
but this could also represent false Preachers, Teachers, Priests, Nuns and
false Christians who are teaching you to worship false gods.
Proverbs 2:1-6 My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my
commandments with you; So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and
apply your heart to understanding; Yea, if you cry after knowledge and
lift up your voice for understanding; If you seek her as
silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD,
and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD
gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes
knowledge and understanding.

maidservant, or your ox, or your ass, or any of your cattle, or the
stranger that is within your gates; that your manservant and your
maidservant may rest as well as you. And remember that you were a
servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out
from there with a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the
LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
5. Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has
commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well
with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is your neighbor’s.
