    Publishers Preface

We should ever remember, that everyone of us has the right to believe or

disbelieve as he will, and that he must give an account of himself to the Lord

only, and not to any others. Let us forsake egotism, self-confidence, pride of

opinion and prejudices (13 TR 28, 29). The Lord alone, moreover, is

responsible for our salvation, and to Him alone are we accountable for oursins. Cease ye hereafter for man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for

wherein is he to be accounted of? Isa. 2:22. Let us not become an invalid by

letting others think for us, but make use of the Gift of Mind and Reason. (13

    TR 30, 31)

Finite men should beware of seeking to control their fellow men, takingthe place assigned to the Holy Spirit. Let not men feel that it is their

prerogative to give to the world what they suppose to be truth, and refuse thatanything should be given contrary to their ideas. This is not their work. -

    - Many things will appear distinctly as truth, which will not be acceptable to

those who think their own interpretation of the Scriptures always right. Most

decided changes will have to be made in regard to ideas which some haveaccepted as without a flaw.-- Testimonies to Ministers, p. 76. (2 SR

    Dear Brothers and Sisters;

The one who refuses to listen to reasons offered by another, is the mostignorant (2 SR 16). Similarly, one who allows prejudice to bar him from a

candid investigation of anything new, coming in the name of the Lord, is

unwittingly an infidel. (1 TR 3)

Clearly, therefore, any attitude, which disposes one not to make a candidinvestigation of any message that purports to be additional truth, must

inevitably bring ruin upon oneself (3 TR 11). The class who do not

investigate for themselves but accept the decisions of others who arefollowing after man, and are in the clutches of the devil. (1 SR 170)

Seeing that nearly all are overcome by the Enemy of souls, we should, therefore, so much the more fear God and walk closer with Him, else we, too,

fall into the Devil kidnapping bag. We should be careful and considerate

    shepherds, not cruel grafters.

You will find that the Devil will fight for life and violently contest this

Judgment message, and will try to convince all that these prophecies will notbe fulfilled. -

    - Gods true people, though, will see the importance of their fulfillment at this

special time, and will gladly take what Gods Words says.

We are called to be reformers, not deformers, gatherers with God, not

scatterers with Satan. Lets be what we profess to be, and thus stand faultless

before the Throne of God, without guile in our mouths and eventually without

sinners in our midst. (1 TG 5:22)

THE LATTERPART OF THE LAST CENTURY

    (Special Edition)

Hear and count the evidences on Both Sides, before firing for or against.

Believing that most of you will (before helping the one side or the other fire

its guns), do as did Nathanael (John1:45-51), follow the example which the

Lord has set before us, and respond to dutys challenge to investigate, - to

come and see, we trust that you will, in the ensuing pages, give unbiasedconsideration to the Facts Set Forth. (7 TR 5)

Now, let us read4 TR 55 Most of the Christians at the present time, by despising the gift

of prophecy in the Christian era, and by applying the Old Testament

Scriptures to Gods ancient people only, have rejected all the prophets! The

Seventh-day Adventist denomination, however, has long professed to believe

in the Spirit of Prophecy, particularly in that special message which in thelatter part of the last century made clear that the angel of Revelation 18:1,

who is to lighten the earth with his glory, was still in the future (EarlyWritings, p. 277), and that the prophet Elijahs message was yet to come

    - In her Laodicean attitude, however, that she is rich, and increased with

goods, and has need of nothing, neither truth nor prophets, she manifests

the spirit which led the Jewish leaders to kill Gods messengers, and whichhas caused nearly all Christendom to set aside the prophets, thus teaching

that they ceased with the preaching of John the Baptist. (4 TR 55)

First of all we need to get our doctrine, Brother, Sister, only from the

golden bowl (11 TR 12). Let us find all our explanations only from and inthe golden bowl, and you will have no trouble in knowing the truth, or of

avoiding the ever ready trap of deception. Thus the difficulty in knowing the

difference between truth and error is eliminated. (2 SR 289)

The original author of the SROD is not V.T. Houteff, but rather the Holy

Spirit (3 Ans. 33). V.T. Houteff is just a penman, the same with the writers ofthe Bible (1 SM21). Obviously, therefore, all the written Words of God, the

Bible, E.G. White writings and V.T Houteff, since all these writers were

already dead only by the same Spirit of Inspiration can clarify whatever is

involved, according to 1 Ans. 47.

Remember, Interpretation is correct only when inspired by the same

Spirit, thus timely utterances are revealed. (2 SR 78) So, very plainly, the

(written) Word of God cannot be rightly interpreted privately--

without the aidof Inspiration (2 Pet. 1:20, 21). Any who thus attempt to interpret the

messages which the Lord sends to them, will find themselves serving Satan

instead of serving Christ, and will surely cause both themselves and their

followers to make shipwreck of faith. (3 Ans. 30)

    .CEASE FROM MEN

As you will find yourself under severe trial if you obey your inner

convictions and take hold of the truth, you must therefore let the Lord alone

be your guide, and Inspiration your only teacher. Do not value your salvation

so little as to trust to the wisdom of another. Be wise: obey the word of theLord, investigate for yourself, and do not delay, for you know not the narrow

margin of time between you and heaven! Trust ye not in a friend, put ye notconfidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy

    bosom. Mic. 7:5. (1 TR 44)

2 TG 45:7 Did you mark what Inspiration says? It plainly declares that

the Scriptures are not privately interpreted -- not without the Spirit of God in

    the man, -

    .7

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    9/63

    - not by the man alone, and not without Gods own appointment. And the

reason given, you note, is the very fact that prophecy did not come by the will

of man, but by the will of the Spirit, through holy men of God. This, brethren, is Heavens law and order. And who are we to change it? To put

your trust in private interpretation is therefore to barter your soul to man.

Concerning such a perilous practice, the Lord commands:

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to beaccounted of? Isa. 2:22. (2 TG45:7)

2 TG 9:7 We know that the Spirit Who leads into all Truth and allknowledge is not Himself led or taught by any man. Hence, why should we

depend on any man that is divested of Inspiration to pass judgment on

inspired Truth? The Word points out that not men only but even the nationsare as nothing. (2 TG 9:7)

GC 344 Even the prophets who were favored with the special

illumination of the Spirit did not fully comprehend the import of the

revelations committed to them. The meaning was to be unfolded from age to

age, as the people of God should need the instruction therein contained. (GC344)

This reading implicitly shows that even the prophet himself who had been

favored with the special illumination of the Spirit of God, did not fully

comprehend of the true import of the revelation committed to him. Forexample

Paul was an inspired apostle, yet the Lord did not reveal to him at all

times just the condition of His people. Those who were interested in the

prosperity of the church, and saw evils creeping in, presented the matterbefore him, and from the light which he had previously received he was

prepared to judge of the true character of these developments. Because the

Lord had not given him a new revelation for that special time, those who werereally seeking light did not cast his message aside as only a common letter.

No, indeed. The Lord had shown him the difficulties and dangers which

would arise in the churches, that when they should develop, he might knowjust how to treat them. (5T 684)

    ISAIAH 65

Isa. 65:1, I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them

    that sought me not:

    11/63

    - I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my

name. The language used in this verse is in the past tense. However, there is

a chance for an argument as to whether it be in past or present tense, as it istranslated in the King James version. The following, which is altogether in

past tense, is quoted from the Hebrew translation by Isaac Lesser. I allowed

myself to be soughtby those that asked not; I let myself be found by those

thatsoughtme not: Isaid, here am I, unto a nation that called itself not by my

name. The Greek, also the Bulgarian are in past tense, but let us quote thesame verse which was quoted by Paul to the Romans, as it is in the King

James version. Rom. 10:20, But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I wasfound

of them that soughtme not; I was made manifest unto them that askednotafter me.

Certainly no one can dispute the language used by Paul, for he was welleducated in both Hebrew and Latin tongues. Furthermore, Paul made the

translation under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, therefore we must believe

this scripture as it is translated by him--from the Hebrew to the Greek,--in

past tense. We shall speak ofIsa. 65:2, and then come back with the thought.

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which

walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts.-

    10

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    12/63

    - Note that while the first verse is in past tense, the second is in present. Paul

applies the first verse to the Gentiles in his time, but the second to Israel,--

after the flesh. Here is an opportunity for concentration of thought upon thesubject. Paul is applying the scripture in past tense to present time in his day,

but the scripture in present tense he applies to a people in the past. The way

the application was made certainly does not sound grammatically correct, but

we cannot say Paul made a mistake. The application and translation must be

right, as well as grammatically correct.

The wisdom used in this scripture is amazing, and it should cause us to

give glory to our God. Paul, under the Spirit of Inspiration made theapplication, so as to clear the scripture from the apparent complication. The

chapter was not written for Israel, nor for the Gentiles in Pauls day, but

directly for the church at the present time. If this can be proven, we mustaccept it as present truth direct from God. The scripture being grammatically

incorrect of the application proves that the time for this chapter was not yet

ripe, the same as other scriptures and prophecies. It could not be understood,

nor correctly applied until the time appointed. Then God reveals His Word to

His people in the manner He will choose, but it may come in an unexpected

    way.

    11

    13/63

The first verse rightfully applies to the Gentiles, the second was applied to

Israel after the flesh, which is a type of Israel by the promise (144,000, the

church at this present time; namely, the Seventh-day Adventist). For this

reason, Paul had to apply the scripture to the type, for the true was not yet in

existence. Now, the time being ripe, the scripture is grammatically correct, the

first verse in past tense to the Gentiles in Pauls time, the second to the church

at this present time, in present tense. Thus we have the positive proof of the

application and the time to which this scripture applies. This should turn ourhearts to God, and cause us to search diligently the prophecy contained in this

    chapter.

Space will not permit to present here all this chapter contains. Only an

outline of some of the things will be given. The charge against the church is

not a pleasant one, but it ought not to discourage any one of us, for our God ismerciful and willing to forgive us of our sins if we would but acknowledge

our guilt. Had it not been so, He would not have sent the message. The last

part of, Isa. 65:3, is quoted here: That sacrificeth in gardens and burneth

incense upon altars of brick. We must understand that these are symbols but

they are not hard to decipher. Had it been impossible to be understood, no one

    could profit by it,-

    12

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    14/63

    - therefore the symbol would not have been used in the chapter. Gardens

are used for a display. Sacrifice is the same as gift. Incense, according to

Rev. 8:3, 4, is the way prayers are sent to God. Nowhere in the Bible can weread of any of Gods people building altars of brick. Altars to God were

    always built withstones.

The difference between brick and stone will now be considered. Brick is

    the product of man, but stone is the workmanship of God. Let us nowconsider the lesson intended here. Gardens, display; Sacrifice, gifts;

Incense, prayers; Bricks, man-made proposition. The charge is, we

sacrifice for display we offer our prayers to God (upon altars of brick); wefollow after man instead of Gods pure word, as given to the church. (1 SR

    160-163)

The SROD plainly declared, that Apostle Paul is well educated both in

Hebrew and Latin Languages. Inspiration declared clearly that the way

Apostle Paul applied his own writing certainly does not sound grammatically

correct. Why? Apostle Paul applied verse 1 to the present time in his day by

which it was inscribed in a past tense he applies to a people in the present

time. Whereas, the one inscribed in present tense he applied it in the past.Apostle Paul, being just a penman of the Holy Ghost, -

    13

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    15/63

    - the statement must be absolutely perfect (1 SM 21). Then the SROD

    declared:

The scripture being grammatically incorrect of the application proves that

the time for this chapter was not yet ripe, the same as other scriptures and

prophecies. It could not be understood, nor correctly applied until the time

appointed. Then God reveals His Word to His people in the manner He will

choose, but it may come in an unexpected way. (1 SR 162)

The first verse rightfully applies to the Gentiles, the second was applied

to Israel after the flesh, which is a type of Israel by the promise (144,000, thechurch at this present time; namely, the Seventh-day Adventist). For this

reason, Paul had to apply the scripture to the type, for the true was not yet in

at this present time, in present tense. Thus we have the positive proof of the

application and the time to which this scripture applies. This should turn our

hearts to God, and cause us to search diligently the prophecy contained in this

    chapter. (1 SR 162)

    Therefore, the complete admonition was

7 SC 7-12:19 There is danger of out being so overzealous to keep out

of Babylon, says the founder of the S.D.A church, that we shall commit her

most noted blunder that of sticking a stake and refusing to pull it up andadvance. When we cease to unlearn errors, we shall fall like those who have

gone before us. We have learned much, and no doubt there is much more for

us to learn It is the follow on and the go through spirit that will finally

land the remnant without fault on the heavenly Mount Zion. My conclusion

is that we should give up no Scripture truth, but that our false applications andinterpretations of Scripture, and consequent false ideas of order and propriety,

should be given up as fast as possible. The Review and Herald, May 29,

    1860. (7 SC7-12:19)

Now, let us read4 TR 55 Most of the Christians at the present time, by despising the gift

of prophecy in the Christian era, and by applying the Old Testament

Scriptures to Gods ancient people only, have rejected all the prophets! The

Seventh-day Adventist denomination, however, has long professed to believe

in the Spirit of Prophecy, particularly in that special message which in the

latter part of the last century make clear that-

    15

    - the angel ofRevelation 18:1, who is to lighten the earth with his glory, was

still in the future (Early Writings, p. 277), and that the prophet Elijahs

message was yet to come (Testimonies to Ministers, p. 475). In herLaodicean attitude, however, that she is rich, and increased with goods, and

has need of nothing, neither truth nor prophets, she manifests the spirit

which led the Jewish leaders to kill Gods messengers, and which has caused

nearly all Christendom to set aside the prophets, thus teaching that they

ceased with the preaching of John the Baptist. (4 TR 55)

There is no dispute that V.T. Houteff applied the statement unto his arrival

as an inspired servant of God. But, if you will carefully scrutinized thestatement, with the aid of Inspiration, we can easily comprehend, that the

same with Apostle Paul, the application that was made does not exactly fits,

    according to the reading.

The SROD admonished us to consider the use of the Biblical past and

present tense. This grammatical rule is followed in the Scriptures, and it is

one way to recognize present Truth (2 SR 118). The same rule is to be

observed in all Bible truths to establish authoritatively a particular prophetic

time. (1 SR 240) Perfect they are when their appointed time is come.-

    - Only at such an occasion are the Scriptures grammatically correct (1 SR

244). Now, let us try to evaluate, the statement in 4 TR 55, every sentence

    used by Inspiration.

First sentence, in the paragraph:Most of the Christians at the present time, by despising the gift of

prophecy in the Christian era, and by applying the Old Testament Scriptures

to Gods ancient people only, have rejected all the prophets!

The first sentence ended with exclamation mark [!], placed after aninterjection or exclamation to indicate its character, a word expressing an

emotion. Of course the phrase at the present time is applied in the days of

V.T. Houteff. In which most of the Christians were despising the gift ofProphecy. And the phrase In the Christian era reaches to the time of V.T.

Houteff. That the Protestant World rejected the gift of Prophecy which was

bestowed to E.G. White, have rejected all the prophets. And then compared

the Seventh day Adventist Church, in the next sentence.

    Let us read

    Second Sentence in the paragraph

The Seventh-day Adventist denomination, however, has long professed to

believe in the Spirit of Prophecy, particularly in that special message which in

the latter part of the last century make clear that the angel ofRevelation 18:1,who is to lighten the earth with his glory, was still in the future (Early

Writings, p. 277), and that the prophet Elijahs message was yet to come

    (Testimonies to Ministers, p. 475).

To have more definite understanding let us read6 TR 15 The Spirit of Prophecy Is Virtually Rejected.

A large class of professing Christians are really saying in their hearts: Aslong as we believe that there is a God and a Christ, belong to a church, lead

honest lives, and do an occasional good deed as opportunity affords, we are

on the way to the Holy City. And sad to say, this loose and fatally delusive

hope is even in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination.

Sadly, too, though the denomination was founded by the gift of prophecy,

its present-day members -- ministers and laity alike -- are at continual

variance among themselves over the prophetic gift, just as they are over othermatters in the Scriptures. And among those who do hold that the writings of

Mrs. White are inspired, the great majority are as ignorant of and as

disobedient to them, as are those who profess no faith at all in them. (6 TR

    15)

1 SR 87, 88 Testimonies to Ministers, page 475, under the chapterentitled Let Heaven Guide, we read: Prophecy must be fulfilled. The Lord

says: Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the

great and dreadful day of the Lord. Somebody is to come in the spirit and

power of Elijah, and when he appears, men may say: You are too earnest,

you do not interpret the Scriptures in the proper way. Let me tell you how toteach your message. No plainer statement could have been made than this,

that we must look for a prophet, or a message in the near future. If this is an

inspired statement, then it seems it would be the duty of the watchmen on the

walls of Zion to educate and instruct the people that there is a prophet, or amessage to look for. But what have we? On the contrary, the general opinion

of the entire denomination is, no prophet cometh, neither is there anymessage to be expected. -

    - We have all the truth, and we need none, is the cry from the camp of Israel.

Thus we see how the old enemy has duplicated his underhand deception with

the church at the present time. Just as Pharaoh was unconscious of the mainpurpose of his command, just so by the unconsciousness of the leaders, the

shrewd deceiver has attempted to drown the prophet, or the message of

reform for the present time. Thus it proves in every instance that the

experience of Israel in Egypt is a photograph of Israel, the true. If a prophet,

or even a message should come, the church is not ready to accept either. (1

    SR 87, 88)

What does the SDA church telling about the prediction in TM 475?Let us

1 SM 412-414 THE SPECIAL WORK OF ELLEN G. WHITE. We should

come into a position where every difference will be melted away. If I think I

have light, I shall do my duty in presenting it. Suppose I consulted others

concerning the message the Lord would have me give to the people, the door

might be closed so that the light might not reach the ones to whom God had

    sent it.

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the whole multitude of the disciples

began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works

that they had seen; saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of theLord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees

from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he

answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace,

the stones would immediately cry out (Luke 19:37-40).

The Jews tried to stop the proclamation of the message that had been

predicted in the Word of God; but prophecy must be fulfilled. The Lord says,

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great anddreadful day of the Lord (Malachi 4:5). Somebody is to come in the spirit

    - I shall tell the truth as God gives it to me, and I say now, If you continue to

find fault, to have a spirit of variance, you will never know the truth, Jesus

said to His disciples, I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannotbear them now (John 16:12). They were not in a condition to appreciate

sacred and eternal things; but Jesus promised to send the Comforter, who

would teach them all things, and bring all things to their remembrance,

whatsoever He had said unto them. Brethren, we must not put our dependence

in man. Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he

to be accounted of? (Isaiah 2:22). You must hang your helpless souls upon

Jesus. It does not become us to drink from the fountain of the valley, when

there is a fountain in the mountain. Let us leave the lower streams; let uscome to the higher springs. If there is a point of truth that you do not

understand, upon which you do not agree, investigate, compare scripture with

who are prejudiced against the doctrines that are now being discussed. They

mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and

    repent (Revelation 3:17-

This scripture applies to those who live under the sound of the message,

but who will not come to hear it. How do you know but that the Lord is

giving fresh evidences of His truth, placing it in a new setting, that the way of

the Lord may be prepared? What plans have you been laying that new light

    may be infused through the-

    - ranks of Gods people? What evidence have you that God has not sent light

to His children? All self-sufficiency, egotism, and pride of opinion must be

put away. We must come to the feet of Jesus, and learn of Him who is meekand lowly of heart. Jesus did not teach His disciples as the rabbis taught

theirs. Many of the Jews came and listened as Christ revealed the mysteries of

salvation, but they came not to learn; they came to criticize, to catch Him in

some inconsistency, that they might have something with which to prejudice

the people. They were content with their knowledge, but the children of God

must know the voice of the True Shepherd. Is not this a time when it would be

highly proper to fast and pray before God? We are in danger of variance, in

danger of taking sides on a controverted point; and should we not seek God inearnestness, with humiliation of soul, that we may know what is truth? (1 SM

THEN SHE MAKES REFERENCE AGAIN TO HER OWN

    EXPERIENCE:

PROPHECY MUST BE FULFILLED. THE LORD SAYS, `BEHOLD, I

THAT SHE WAS REFERRING TO HER OWN EXPERIENCE IS ALSO

MADE CLEAR FROM THE PARAGRAPH WHICH FOLLOWS, IN

    WHICH SHE DECLARES:

I SHALL TELL THE TRUTH AS GOD GIVES IT TO ME. . . . (TM

    534, 535)

The general opinion of the entire denomination (of the SDA church) is,

no prophet cometh, neither is there any message to be expected (1 SR 87,88). For according to them, the statement in TM 475 have been mistakenlyapplied by some to some individual who it was thought -

    27

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    29/63

    - would appear with a prophetic message subsequent to Mrs. Whites life and

work (TM 534). For according to them such statement is applied to E.G.

White herself. Now lets turn back to 4 TR 55.

The subject in the second sentence of the paragraph is the Seventh day

Adventist denomination. Therefore, the statement has long professed to

believe in the Spirit of Prophecy is directly applied to the SDA

denomination, being the subject in the sentence. But, the most important

question is, what thus the SDA denomination do believe in the Spirit of

Prophecy? Of course, not the belief that there is still prophet to come after

E.W. White, for Inspiration made it so plain, that the general opinion of theentire denomination, is that no more prophet to come. (1SR 87, 88)

Obviously, therefore, the statement particularly in that special messagerefers definitely to the prediction ofTestimonies toMinisters page 475. In

which according to them such message was already fulfilled to E.G. Whites

life and work, according to 1 SM 412-414 and TM 534. Therefore, the latter

part of the century mentioned must first applied to E.G. White herself who

nurtured and preserved the church for seven decades (2 TG 10:28), from

    1844 up to 1915 A.D.

    28

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    30/63

A century is a period of time consisting of a 100 years (1 TG 44:9). Or

[100] hundred consecutive years. Therefore, from Jan. 1, 1800 upto Dec. 31,

1899 A.D. must be the entire period of the 19th Century. Obviously, therefore, E.G. Whites life and work covered, almost the entire 19 th century,

born in 1827 and died in 1915. To have more definite understanding, let us

    divide century into three parts.

1.) Early Part of the 19th century. It would be from 1800 1833 A.D.

2.)Middle Part of the 19th century. It would be from 1833 1866 A.D.

3.)The latter Part of the 19th century. It would be from 1866 1899 A.D.

Thus adding evidence to evidence, the passages overwhelmingly show, that to the general opinion of the SDA denomination, TM 475 is applied to

the latter part of the 19th century of E.G. Whites life and work from 1868

A.D. even up to the little portion of the 20th century 1915 A.D.Now, let us

turn to the statement again, in 4 TR 55.

    29

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    31/63

The SDA denomination, professed to believed the Spirit of Prophecy the

same with some Christians believed that the gift of the Spirit of the prophecy

ended with John the Baptist (6 TR 5). And some, declared it was ended withJohn the beloved (EW 137). But the SDA denomination who has long

professed to believed the Spirit of Prophecy, particularly of that special

message predicted in TM 475 ended with E.G. White, in the latter part of

the 19th century, according to them.

But the statement: made clear that the angel of Rev. 18:1, who is to

lighten the earth with his glory, was still in the future, cannot be applied to

the SDA denomination. But rather to V.T. Houteff being a part of the SDAdenomination also believed that Rev. 18:1 was applied to E.G. White

according to the teaching of the SDA denomination. Therefore, the statement

made clear must be applied to V.T. Houteff together with his associates. Itwas made clear to them, in 19291930 that the special message predicted in

TM 475 was still future in the days of E.G. White. That the prophet

mentioned in TM 475 was yet to come, in the days of E.G. White.

The statement In her Laodicean attitude, however, that she is rich, and

increased with goods, and has need of nothing, neither truth nor prophets,-

    30

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    32/63

    - she manifests the spirit which led the Jewish leaders to kill Gods

messengers, and which has caused nearly all Christendom to set aside the

prophets, thus teaching that they ceased with the preaching of John theBaptist. (4 TR 55) Implicitly shows that they dont believe that TM 475 was

still future. Contrariwise, the general opinion of the entire SDA denomination

believed and taught that such prediction in TM 475 was already fulfilled in

E.G. Whites life and work, according to the evidences that had been set forth.

Now, let us focus, our whole attention, in the second sentence of the

paragraph in 4 TR 55.Let us quote againparticularly in that special message which in the latter part of the last

century made clear that the angel of Revelation 18:1, who is to lighten the

earth with his glory, was still in the future (Early Writings, p. 277), and thatthe prophet Elijahs message was yet to come (Testimoniesto Ministers, p.

    475).

The word particularly is an adverb meaning with specific reference, -

    31

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    33/63

    - distinctly a fact particularly mentioned. Therefore, such word definitely

points out to that special message.

The word in is a preposition. Meaning within the boarders specified.

The word that is a demonstrative pronoun, but used in a sentence as an

adjective pronoun. And the word that is in a singular form. And such word

that is pertaining to some person or thing specially designated in the

sentence. Therefore, the word that definitely points out to the specialmessage. The word special, being an adjective having some particular or

distinguishing characteristic out of the ordinary uncommon, particular. Therefore, such message must be definitely special. And the word which

is a pronoun [interrogative], but used as subjective.

The word the is a definite article. The word a and an is an indefinite

article. For example: The SROD declared the Passover in itself is never

called the Sabbath (10 TR 5). The Scriptures, moreover, never call a feast

day the Sabbath, but always a sabbath or sabbaths. (See Lev. 23:24).

    (3 Ans. 18)

    32

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    34/63

Therefore, the word a being an indefinite article, the phrase a sabbath

can be applied to the feast of the Passover week, Feast of Harvest, Feast of

Trumpets, Feast of Ingathering, Day of Atonement or Feast of Tabernacles. But if the definite article the is used it changes the meaning, the phrase theSabbath can only be applied to the weekly Sabbath. For example:

1 SC 10:4 I am glad to tell you that we have one more member in our

company. The church voted him out last night, March 4. (1 SC 10:4)

1 TG 35:19 Our subject for this afternoon is found in Isaiah 34 and 35.

Last week, you recall, we studied thirty-third chapter, the Lords burdenconcerning the church as she approaches the time of harvest, -- the time the

wheat is put into the barn, and the tares burned (Matt.13:30); the time

the good fish are put into vessels and the bad fish cast out (Matt. 13:47-

    49) as are those who have not the wedding garment on (Matt. 22:1-13).

Continuing now into the thirty-fourth chapter, we there see that God invites

the nations of the world to draw near and to hear His mighty work of refining:

    (1 TG 35:19)

When the definite article the is added to the adjective last the meaningchanges. -

    33

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    35/63

    - The use of the definite article the is to render the modified word very

more particular either person, thing or group. For example, the statement in 1

TG 35:19 last week if the definite article is added the last week itchanges the meaning.

Now, lets turn back to 4 TR 55

particularly in that special message which in the latter part of the last

century make clear that the angel of Revelation 18:1, who is to lighten theearth with his glory, was still in the future (Early Writings, p. 277), and that

the prophet Elijahs message was yet to come (Testimonies to Ministers, p.

    475). (4 TR 55)

If we will apply the century in the reading to the 19

    th

Century, then itcannot be applied to V.T. Houteff, for his life and work occurred in the 20 th

century, and not 19th century. If we will apply the century in the statement

to the 20th century it cannot be applied to V.T. Houteffs life and work, for his

calling occurred in the middle of the 20 th century and not on the latter part.

But if we will apply the century in the reading to E.G. Whites life and

    Work.

1.) First The statement cannot be exactly fits to her, for E.G. -

    34

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    36/63

    - Whites life and work cannot be applied to the messenger predicted in TM

    475.

2.)Second The statement In the latter part of the last century does

not exactly fits to E.G. Whites life and work. Why?

    a. Her calling began on the early part of the 19 th century.

    b. The phrase last century the definite article the being added the lastcentury the same with Apostle Paul The way the application was made

certainly does not sound grammatically correct (1 SR 161)

The word in being a preposition simply indicates within the boarders

specified. Therefore, the phrase in the latter part such calling within thelatter part. The word latter is an adjective meaning on the very last portion

of the century. Therefore, whatever century the statement applied it must be

on the latter part. If applied to the 19th century, it does not exactly fits to the

calling of E.G. White, and her existence for it did began on the early part of

the 19th Century. If we apply to the 20th century, it cannot be exactly fits to the

calling of V.T. Houteff, for it was occurred in the middle part of the century.

    35

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    37/63

The word of being a preposition, simply indicates as coming from or

originated from. Therefore, the statement In the latter part of the last

century such latter part must be of the last century. If the19th century is thelast century, then the statement could no longer be real. For the word the

being a definite article, to render the modified word more particular used

specifically to point out being the last century definitely shows that there

would be no other century to follow after it. But the mere fact, that, 20 th

century followed after the 19th century the application that was made

certainly does not sound grammatically correct.

This reading completely shows that our world will no longer reach up to2100 A.D. For the 20th century is the last century.Let us read

2 TG 7:4 Now that knowledge has been increased since the last century,or longer, and now that steam, oil, and electric engines have revolutionized

the world, and have made it possible for men to run to and fro with

unprecedented speed, the subject stands as clear as crystal that we are now

living in the time of the end. There can be no doubt about this. This is

positive truth, truth that you cannot gainsay and yet believe the Bible and

    history. (2 TG 7:4)

    36

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    38/63

The word since is an adverb. The word since simply indicates from a

past time mentioned or referred to up to the present. At same time between a

certain past time or event and the present. Therefore, the phrase since thelast century definitely points out to the 20 th century. And all of us are

cognizant to the fact, that Nahums prophecy is applied to the World War II.

Inescapably therefore the last century must be the 20 th century.

The most wonderful thing about the prophetic declaration is that they are

perfectly capable of revealing the truth, and once understood aright, theycannot be contradicted. Any interpretation of prophetic events that do not

perfectly fit be depended upon (2 SR 30, emphasismine). Remember, thatJust as the alphabet lends itself to the fabrication of words, phrases, and

sentences into a predetermined pattern of thought, sustained and coherent,

likewise the Bible, when made wholly self-defining, marvelously builds itsrichly varied materials (types, symbols, parables, allegories, numerics, etc.)

into a towering revelation, foreordained, of perfectly coordinated, life-saving

truth. Accordingly, as every letter, word, -

    37

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    39/63

    - and phrase of a sentence has its appointed part to play in giving coherent

expression to the thought intended, just so has every scripture its appointed

part in unfolding Bible truths. When each is carefully joined in its rightrelation in the picture of revealed truth, one leading on to and illuminating

another, the great over-all design stands out in all the solemn majesty of its

mountainous finality and grandeur. (5 TR 36)

Remember, every words, phrases, and sentences must have a

predetermined pattern of thought, sustained and coherent definitely showsthat to attach (the definite article the) (without) no significance or

importance to the verses (sentence), would lay one under the fearfulcondemnation of the following scripture:

If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city,

and from the things which are written in this book. Rev. 22:19. (8 TR94,

    95)

1 TG 13:7 As Inspiration unrolls the Scroll it is, of course, but to be

expected that it will find us surprisingly ignorant of many things--

the veryreason that It unrolls. If we, therefore, -

    38

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    40/63

    - fail to exchange our ideas for the Lords then what hope is there for us ever

to become enlightened and fitted for eternity? Our ideas are to fall flat, and

the Lords prophecies are to stand high and lifted up. Our duty is to proveGods Word correct rather than to hold tenaciously to our preconceptions and

misconceptions until God Himself steps in and puts us to shame. (1 TG

    13:7)

Most human beings it is hard to say We are wrong. Only a few can

shun pride of opinion and admit their errors (1 TG 4:22) they see noinjury; and fear not God. And when the fact is revealed they refuse to

exchange error for truth because it contradicts their false theology. (2 SR 18)We think it is far safer and wiser, as well as more reasonable for one to

admit his mistake -- as we mortals are apt to make many of them -- rather

than to become involved in contradictory interpretations of the Word of God.(2 SR 34)

You remember Once men fought the astronomical findings of Galileo.

They even forced him to recant his position that the earth was round. But their

fighting the truth did not make the earth flat. Likewise anyones fighting

against the clear-cut evidences that Revelation 9:15 did not meet its

    fulfillment in 1840, -

    39

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    41/63

    - or, as a matter of fact, trying to obscure the light on any other Bible truth,

will in no whit darken or doom it, but only darken and doom himself. (5 TR

    85, 86)

Likewise, if the absolute fact is that, God send His last prophet in the latter

part of the 20th century, you cannot alter the fact. And trying to obscure the

light concerning the messenger which was predicted beforehand, which such

arrival would be in the latter part of the last century, which is the 20 th century

will in no whit darken or doom it, but only darken and doom himself.

Remember, God keeps accurate time. (1 SR 153) How do we knowthat the time is here and that the Lord is now speaking to us? We know it

from the fact that these long concealed prophecies on the subject are now for

the first time unfolded and brought to attention. (1TG 37:10)

The SROD declared: Aside from Ezekiel (Gods mouth piece) God

delegates no other to be a watchman of the people: (1 TG 22:30) And the

only bracket period by which all these antitypical Ezekiels arrival would be

    from the 16th century (1500 A.D.) up to the 20th century (2000A.D.).

    40

    42/63

    MARVELS OF TYPOLOGY

Gods law of type that where there is type, there must also be antitype.(9 TR 72) Thus through types and symbols, God (He) makes wise the

simple and confounds the prudent by showing that where there is no type

there is no truth. (2 SR 10) Now, if never before we should see that where

there is a type there is also an antitype, and that where is no type, there is no

Truth. (1 TG 47:15) The types are worked out to expose the error and

reveal the truth. The honest ones will shun the devil by embracing the facts, and by walking in the light (2 SR 255) A clear manifestation that there is a

type for every incident of vital interest to the church of God; which are the

only positive proofs and clear explanations of divine providences. As there is

no type for that which is false, teachers of theories without a typical

representation for their claims of so called Bible truths, and those whobelieve in them, are as the blind leading the blind. (2 SR 255)

1 SC 4:5 But by the fact that Christ applied Malachi Three to John the

Baptists message, and as this scripture did not meet its fulfillment at that

time, it proves that John was a type of the Elijah that is to come before the

coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord-

    41

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    43/63

    - (Malachi 4:5), at which time the prophecy will be fulfilled in its fullness. (1

    SC4:5)

If there is type, there must be an antitype, according to Gods law of types

(9 TR 71). The SROD plainly declared that John was a type of the Elijah

that is to come before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

(1SC 4:5) Then who is the Antitype?

1 TG 36:4 True, verse three found fulfillment in the work of John theBaptist; but the verses preceding and also the verses following, definitely

apply to the people in the latter days and only partially to the people in Johnsday. Therefore the truth stands out boldly that the direct fulfillment of this

chapter is found in our time, thus making Johns work an ensample of our

work-- Johns work the type, ours the antitype. (1 TG 36:4)

Inspiration, made it so plain the truth stands out boldly that the direct

fulfillment of this chapter is found in our time, thus making Johns work an

ensample of our work. Johns work the type, ours antitype.

9 TR 43 Pronouncing the doom of ancient Israel, the prophet Hoseainscribed the solemn writ:...the children of Israel shall abide many days

    without a king, -

    42

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    44/63

    - and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and

without an ephod, and without teraphim. Hos. 3:4. At the same time,

    however, a promise was made that afterward [after the many days] shall thechildren of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king;

and shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days. Hos. 3:5.

As ancient David is in his grave, the king here promised must be an

antitypical David, just as the Elijah of Malachi 4:5 must be an antitypical

Elijah. Otherwise, in order to fulfill the prophecies, ancient David mustnecessarily rise from his grave, and ancient Elijah descend from Heaven. (9

    TR 43)

This reading alone is sufficient enough, to enlightened such beclouded

mind, that in order to fulfill the prophecies concerning David and Elijah itnecessitates the presence of antitypical David, and the presence of antitypical

Elijah The Tishbite. Otherwise, in order to fulfill the prophecies, ancient

David must necessarily rise from his grave, and ancient Elijah descend from

    Heaven.

The SROD made it so plain, that In the days of this antitypical DavidGod gathers His flock from all the countries where they have been scattered.

    -

    43

    45/63

    - (2 TG 2:17, 18) This prediction is still unfulfilled. Therefore, in order to

fulfill this prophecy, necessarily there must be an antitypical David.

Antitypical David is the simple means (TM 300) whom God shall reignover His people. (8 TR 71)

Heres another statement1 SR 243 Carmel, Bashan, and Gilead are used as symbols of good

spiritual pasture. These places are where Israel had their victories. MountCarmel is where Elijah had his experience with the backslidden Israel in the

days of Ahab. It was in Carmel where he (Elijah) brought the fire fromheaven which consumed the sacrifice upon the altar, after which he slew the

    prophets of Baal. (1 SR243)

GCS 30, 31 Moreover, we all know that the work of typical Elijah was

to do away with the prophets and priests who served Baal instead of God,

those who led ancient Israel into the greatest fallacy and folly of the day.

Accordingly, the antitypical Elijahs work, being in the spirit and power of

typical Elijah, must therefore be similar to typical Elijahs work--restoring

Truth and righteousness, and bringing judgment upon the false prophets andteachers in the antitypical day -

    44

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    46/63

    - which in itself is the separating of the chaff from the wheat -- the work of

the Judgment for the Living. (GCS 30, 31)

2 TG 41:7, 8 This scripture, you see, reflects the tragedy which took

place on the top of Carmel in the days of Elijah. Here we are given the hint

that there is to be another show-down between the prophet of God and the

prophets of Baal. The prophets of Baal in our day even boast that they are not

inspired, that what they teach and preach is what they themselves discovered

by deep study and research! They even sneer at those who claim to beinspired of the Lord! They seem to think that God has forsaken the earth; that

He cares not to send His Spirit as in former time; that men are now so wisethat what the Spirit can do for them, they themselves can do even better! The

truth is, though, that if there ever was a need for inspired interpreters of the

Scriptures, it is today while many winds of doctrines are blowing from alldirections, bringing in confusion, dissension, and disaster everywhere. No one

sees eye to eye! (2 TG 41:7, 8)

This prophecy is still unfulfilled. Obviously, therefore, in order to fulfill

the prophecy necessarily there must be an antitypical Elijah. The mere fact,

that if such prophecy does not points out to antitypical Elijah,-

    45

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    47/63

    - Elijah of old must necessarily descend from heaven, implicitly shows, that

this antitypical Elijah will no longer taste death.

    In Conclusion:

    1. The second sentence of the paragraph in 4 TR 55, the main subject is

the Seventh day Adventist Church. That the SDA church has long professed

to believe the Spirit of Prophecy.

    2. The statement particularly in that special message which pertains to

the angel of Revelation 18:1 as predicted in Early Writings page 277 and

TM 475 according to the SDA such prophecy was already fulfilled in E.G.

Whites life and work in TM 534 and 1 SM 412-414. And that is why, they

were in continual at variance the manifestation of the prophetic gift in 1930 (6TR 15). For according to them V.T. Houteff is a false prophet. For the

general opinion of the entire denomination is, no prophet cometh, neither is

there any message to be expected. We have all the truth, and we need none,

is the cry from the camp of Israel. (1 SR 87, 88)

    3. Therefore, the statement made clear that the angel ofRev. 18:1,-

    46

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    48/63

    - who is to lighten the earth with his glory, was still in the future (Early

Writings p. 277), and that the prophet Elijahs message was yet to come

(Testimonies to Ministers p. 475) can never be applied to the SDA church. For according to them, it was made clear that TM 475 and Early Writings

277, was already fulfilled in E.G. Whites life and work. And that is why they

declared: Somebody is to come in the spirit and power of Elijah. These

words have been mistakenly applied by some to some individual who it was

thought would appear with a prophetic message subsequent to Mrs. Whites

    life and work. (TM 534)

    4. The mere fact that the statement declared: In her Laodicean attitude, however, that she is rich, and increased with goods, and has need of

nothing, neither truth nor prophets, she manifests the spirit which led the

Jewish leaders to kill Gods messengers, and which has caused nearly allChristendom to set aside the prophets, thus teaching that they ceased with the

preaching of John the Baptist. (4 TR 55) Bears the evidence that the phrase

made clear by which such prediction was still future in the days of E.G.

White can never be applied to the SDA church. Inescapably therefore, such

phrase made clear definitely points out to V.T. Houteff, together with his

    associates.-

    47

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    49/63

    - It was made clear to them, that the messenger in EW 277 and TM 475 was

not fulfilled to E.G. Whites life and work, and made clear to them, that it was

still future in the days of E.G. White.

    5. Therefore, in this reading (4 TR 55), V.T. Houteff was trying to

convince the SDA people who long professed to believe the Spirit of

Prophecy, by applying TM 475 and EW 277 to E.G. Whites life and work,

the same with the entire Christendom by teaching that all the prophets ended

with John the Baptist, and some with John the Revelator have rejected allthe prophets. (6 TR15)

    6. V.T. Houteff was a bonafide member of the SDA church. Obviously

therefore, he was among them who believed that TM 475 and EW 277 was

already fulfilled in E.G. Whites life and work, as the denomination teaches. But when Inspiration came, and the scroll unroll, it was made clear to them

that such prediction was still future in the days of E.G. White.

    7. Therefore, the statement particularly in that special message which

in the latter part of the last century made clear that the angel of Rev. 18:1,

who is to lighten the earth with his glory, was still in the future (EarlyWritings p. 277), -

    - and that the prophet Elijahs message was yet to come (Testimonies to

Ministers p. 475), needs be properly elucidated. To decipher it more vividly,

let us begin our elaboration with the ensuingFOUR QUESTIONS:

    1. What had been made clear? Of course concerning the special

    message.

    2. What is the special message? Of course the message brought by the

angel ofRev. 18:1, as well as the predicted prophet in TM 475.

3.Made clear unto whom? Of course to V.T. Houteff and his associates.

    4. When it was made clear? This last question needs our deep

concentration. The same with Apostle Paul, the way the application was made

certainly does not sound grammatically correct (1 SR 161). But we cannot

say V.T. Houteff made a mistake. For the original author of the SROD The

Holy Spirit (3 Ans. 33), made a prediction of the arrival of antitypical Elijah

The Tishbite. For the statement which in the latter part of the last centuryis the same to say -

-it was made clear in the latter part of the last century. Or in other words

the latter part of the last century is referred to the time when such special

message was made clear. Therefore, the question: When it was made clear? It is in the latter part of the last century.

Hundred percent, at the time when Inspiration came in 1930, and the scroll

unroll, that is the time, when such special message concerning EW 277 and

TM 475, was made clear to them that it had not been fulfilled to E.G. Whites

life and work, and was still future in the days of E.G. White. But the absolutefact is, 1930 up to 1955, could not be the latter part of the last century,

although the SROD made it so plain that 20th century is the last century, according to 2 TG 7:4.

Some people, in order to obscure such plain statements of the voice of

Inspiration declared: Are we not now in the 21st century? Brethren, we needto ever remember, that century is a period of time consist of 100 consecutive

years. Therefore, although the world considers now as the 21st century, but

unless our world will reach up to 2100 A.D., it can never be called 21st

century. But since, I absolutely believed the SROD, there would be no other

    century to follow the 20

    th

century. Our world will not reach even up to 2050A.D.-

    - Between 2028 A.D2029 A.D as the year of jubilee, Christ visible coming

would occur. Although, we do not know, what month, day or hour it would

be. One thing we are certain, that our world will not extend beyond 2029 A.D.And that is why; the 20th century is the last century.

Such admonition to hire some English professors on teachers, hears what

    inspiration says

2 TG 9:7 We know that the Spirit Who leads into all Truth and allknowledge is not Himself led or taught by any man. Hence, why should we

depend on any man that is divested of Inspiration to pass judgment oninspired Truth? The Word points out that not men only but even the nations

are as nothing: (2 TG 9:7)

Interpretation is correct only when inspired by the same Spirit, thustimely utterances are revealed. (2 SR78) Any who thus attempt to interpret

the messages which the Lord sends to them in the Rod, without the same

Spirit of Inspiration that indicted the writing be he the greatest English

Christ, and will surely cause both themselves and their followers to makeshipwreck of faith. (3 Ans. 30)

Majority of the English professors throughout the whole world, their

interpretation of the vision of Peter in Acts chapter 10, particularly of verses

11 to 15 according to them God commanded that all animals are permissibleto eat.

No candid Bible student could from the above statements arrive at any

conclusion which would lead him to base his interpretation of the subject on

one scripture and wholly ignore the other, but would rather seek to make his

final analysis in such a way as to be in perfect harmony with all inspiredwritings or else confess that he does not have the light on the Scriptures. (1

SC 10:8) Let us remember always to observe the inviolable rule that aninterpretation of one inspired statement must harmonize with all other related

    statements. (3 Ans. 41)

Brethren, 4 TR 55 completely overthrows the idea that there would be aprophet of God to stand in 1955. For the statement made it so plain, that such

special message is to be made clear in the latter part of the last century.

Inspiration admonished us teach only in the light of the Rod those

passages which in one way or another need to be interpreted. (5 Ans. 56)

Undoubtedly, you can never teach in the light of the Rod, that there are morethan one prophet to follow after V.T. Houteff, -

    52

    - except if they would try to sparks of their own kindling And to put their

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    54/63

    - except if they would try to sparks of their own kindling. And to put their

movement in prophecy, they are trying to obscure the clear words of

Inspiration and that the two golden pipe, which carry the golden oil fromthe trees to the bowl, are the only two mediums which God has employed

since 1844 A.D. to interpret the Scripture, (5 SC 1-5:3) and also The

interpretation of the Scriptures, therefore, being entrusted to the two pipes

(prophets) (6 TR 24), to make it appear that, it could not be applied to E.G.

White and V.T. Houteff alone. Although whatever explanation they will make,

can never be found in the Rod, for the statement are the only twomediums which God has employed, is sufficient enough to becloud such

    intelligent mind.

And then to build up their erroneous theories, they will quote the angels of

Rev. 14, to prove that there are 7 angels recorded in the book of Revelation.

Although such doctrine can never be established in the light of the Rod.

    Let us read

3 TR 48 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, exclaimed John the

Revelator, envisaging the same coming variously described by Malachi,Matthew, and Ezekiel, and upon the cloud One sat like unto the Son of man, having on His head a golden crown, -

    53

    - and in His hand a sharp sickle And another angel came out of the temple

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    55/63

and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple,

crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in Thy sickle,

and reap: for the time is come for Thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth isripe. And He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth; and the

    earth was reaped. Rev. 14:14-16.

This coming of the Son of man is plainly, therefore, not when the

resurrected and the living righteous are caught up together to meet Him in the

air: for verses 17-20, following the ones quoted in the paragraph above,

reveal that after He came and reaped the earth, another angel...having a

sharp sickle came and reaped a second harvest before the wrath of God -- theseven last plagues (Rev. 15:1) -- was poured out upon the wicked. (3 TR48)

    2 TG 44:37 Rev. 14:14-19 -- And I looked, and behold a white cloud,

and upon the cloud One sat like unto the Son of man, having on His head agolden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of

the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in

Thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for Thee to reap; for the harvest of

    the earth is ripe. And He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth;

and the earth was reaped. And another angel came out of the temple which is

    in heaven, -

    54

    - he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar,

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    56/63

he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar,

which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to Him that had the

sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in Thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of thevine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in His

sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the

great winepress of the wrath of God.

Here we are again told that there are two reapings, one by the Son of Man,

and another by an angel. The reaping by the Son of Man precedes the reapingby the angel. Son of Man, therefore, gathers the firstfruits, and the angel

gathers the second fruits. (The vines, not the fully ripe grapes, he casts in thewine press.) The Son of Man Himself obviously reaps the firstfruits because

His servants (figuratively the angel of the church of the Laodiceans) are in no

condition to do such a work, for they themselves are wretched, and

miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked, and know it not (Rev. 3:14-18). (2

    TG 44:37)

The SROD made it so plain, that Revelation 14, points out definitely to

Jesus Christ to reap the first-fruits the 144,000. That another angel in

verse 15, according to Inspiration will occur at the second section -

    55

    - of the harvest. The mere fact that Rev. 14:13 occurred after the 144,000 are

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    57/63

    ,

completely sealed (1 SR 219), clearly shows that only Rev. 14:6-12 is applied

during probationary time in the church, but verse 15 up to 20 will be fulfilledafter the 144,000 are completely sealed, if we only teach in the light of the

rod. And by trying to sparks of their own kindling they teach

    THE SEVEN THUNDERS

    2 TG 15:4Rev. 10:3, 4--

And cried with a loud voice, as when a lionroareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And

when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I

heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the

seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

Here we see that there was another truth which could have been recorded,

but John was told not to write it. We do not know how extensive a truth theSeven Thunders contain, but possibly as much as or more than the Seven

Trumpets. Regardless, however, one thing stands out boldly, and that is that

the omission of the Seven Thunders leaves a gap in the chain of Truth. And

since the Seven Thunders are not recorded,-

    56

    - the truth of them cannot be revealed by interpretation, for there is nothing

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    58/63

    y p , g

written of them, and therefore nothing to interpret from. If, then, we are ever

to know the truth of the Seven Thunders, it is to be shown to us perhaps bythe same means as The Revelation was shown to John. (2 TG 15:4)

This people will quote 7BC 971, to prove their position. There is no

dispute that the Truth of the 7 thunders will be revealed, before probation

closes. But the most important question need be considered seriously, is the

way such Truth is revealed. The SROD made it so plain that such Truth willbe revealed by vision, the same way as it was shown to John. And the only

possible time, in which such Truth be revealed is after Gods people reach theKingdom. The revelation of the 7 thunders made by this group of people

being through interpretation it must be erroneous.

    Now, lets turn toTM 475

1 SC 4:5 But by the fact that Christ applied Malachi Three to John

the Baptists message, and as this scripture did not meet its fulfillment at thattime, it proves that John was a type of the Elijah that is to come before -

    57

    - the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord (Malachi 4:5), at

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    59/63

which time the prophecy will be fulfilled in its fullness.

Therefore, as John was a messenger to Gods own people at that time, just

so at this time the Elijah of Malachis prophecy represents a message which is

to be delivered not to the world, but to the professed people of God. As John

was their last prophet, his message was their final means to fit them for the

Messiahs appearing, for which cause said the Master, If ye will receive it,

this is Elias, which was for to come. (Matt. 11:14) Likewise, Elijahsmessage of today must be to the professed people of God, and is to be their

last means to fit them for Christs appearing at this time. (1 SC 4:5)

Gods law of type that where there is type, there must also be antitype.

(9 TR 72) Now, if never before we should see that where there is a type

there is also an antitype, and that where there is no type, there is no Truth (1TG 47:15). Again, we see there is a type for every event, and let none despise

types, for where there is no type, there is no Truth. (2 SR 153) Thus

    through types -

    58

    - He makes wise the simple and confounds the prudent by showing that where

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    60/63

there is no type there is no Truth. (2 SR 10)

1 TG 36:4 True, verse three found fulfillment in the work of John the

Baptist; but the verses preceding and also the verses following, definitely

apply to the people in the latter days and only partially to the people in Johns

day. Therefore the truth stands out boldly that the direct fulfillment of this

chapter is found in our time, thus making Johns work an ensample of our

work Johns work the type, ours the antitype. (1 TG 36:4)

We are now living in the antitypical period. If the Movement of V.T.Houteff, typify the Movement of John the Baptist as inspiration declared (1

TG 36:4), by which the 120 disciples who received the former rain power

typify the 144,000 living saints who shall receive the latter rain power,

according to 2 TG 46:28, then such movement by which consist of more thanone prophet that follow V.T. Houteff (antitypical John the Baptist), had no

typical representation, and the SROD plainly declared it must be false. (2

    SR 255)

The SROD declared; it proves that John was a type of the Elijah that is

to come before the coming of the-

    59

    - great and dreadful day of the Lord. (1 SC 4:5). Therefore the truth

  • 7/27/2019 The Latter Part of the Last Century

    61/63

stands out boldly that the direct fulfillment of this chapter is found in our

time, thus making Johns work an ensample of our work Johns work thetype, ours the antitype. (1 TG 36:4)

    Heres our complete comparison:

    John the Baptist,

The last prophet of theJewish church, he was

    called as ELIJAH

V.T. Houteff,The last prophet of the

Laodicean church orMillitant, he was called

    John the Baptist

    Died before theoutpouring of the

    former rain POWER

    V.T. Houteff

Died before theoutpouring of the latter

    rain POWER

The Movement of Johnthe Baptist is not a

    church, but an

    association.

The Movement of V.T.Houteff is not a church

    but an association.
