How does it relate toTo kill a mocking bird? This book is a good example of racism in America in the 1920’s through to the 1930’s. in the book, just like in real life back then, racism was a part of everyday life. Blacks were not considered as equals back then. The character of Tom Robinson in the book, is accused of committing a crime which he did not do, cause he was black. The crime had to be blamed on someone, and if it could be blamed on a on black person, then it was better due to the racial views of America in the 1920’s – 1930’s

Tom Robinson had a lot evidence showing he was Innocent from the trial, but he was still charged guilty This is because he was black (convicted by an all White jury.) In the world back then, in towns such asMaycomb, it was a racist community since everyoneWas bought up that way, and no one knew better.
