The Kiwanis Club of St. Marys and Heritage Trails
Park District invite you to enjoy the Miami & Erie
Canal Towpath Trail during the Annual Walk with
Nature and Fall Festival.
You can begin or end your walk at any of the
following locations along the canal. Ride the
Shuttle Bus to or from these regular stops:

◊ 40 Acre Pond—3.4 miles/approx. 5K
◊ Lock 14 Park—5.7 miles/approx. 8K
You are welcome to bring your dog, but please
keep him on a short leash and clean up after him.

9th Annual Rendezvous Event along the St. Marys River and Miami-Erie
Canal in St. Marys. (North of High St.)
Girty’s Town Rendezvous
This pioneer encampment is named for
the Girty brothers, who had a trading
post and small settlement along the St.
Marys River in the mid - 1700’s. Come
and visit the settlement and see how
folks survived in pioneer times.
Civil War Re-Enactors
Travel back to Civil War times at the encampment in Memorial Park
along the banks of the St. Marys River. Experience life during some of
the worst times in our young nation’s history, when North fought
against South.
Car Show
Returning again to the Fall Festival.
Bring in your car, 12:00 - 3:00 pm,
whether it is completed or not, and show it off. Dash Plaques to the
first 50 cars. Judging at 2:00 pm. Awards for Best in Show and Top 10
will be given out at 3:45 pm to the winners. Cost per entry is $10.

Music & Entertainment
The Shifferly Road Band will be playing in the Gazebo this year at
Memorial Park. This home-grown band featuring modern country, 80s,
90s, Blues, Pop, and alternatives genres is a favorite of the locals,
young and old and will be playing from 12::00 - 4:30 pm.

Craft Show &
Farmers Market
Enjoy the usual vendors from the St. Marys
Farmers’ Market plus other Craft Booths in
Memorial Park. Baked goods, hand-carved walking sticks, crafts, and
garden fresh produce are just the beginning! Crafts and Market will run
from 12:00 - 5:00 pm.
Arts & Crafts
Children will be instructed by Arts Place
Mercer/Auglaize Center volunteers on making
Arts or Craft items to be taken home with
them for free.
All youth events will be from 12:30 - 4:30 pm.
Tree ID Game starts at the Registration Tent.

Youth Activities
Youth activities in Memorial Park will be
put on by Arts Place Mercer Auglaize Center
and the St. Marys Community Public Library.
Road to Fitness Challenge
Grand Lake Health Systems (GLHS) is challenging you to
get on the Road to Fitness! The walk is worth 10
points for the GLHS Fitness Challenge. The registration
table is located in Memorial Park.
50 Years of Fun for the Whole Family FREE music, entertainment, and activities can be found in Memorial Park!

Fun Facts
It took 20 years from 1825 to 1845 to complete the Miami & Erie
Canal
The Miami & Erie Canal utilized 105 locks to raise and lower the
canal boats along the 250 mile man-made waterway.
The primary workforce consisted of Irish and German immigrants who labored on the canal for 30 cents a day, food, whiskey, and
shelter.
