THE KENYA NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL

INFORMATION ON ON-LINE REGISTRATION OF 2017 KCSE QUALIFYING TEST

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to inform all persons who intend to register for the 2018 KCSE Examination and do not meet the entry requirements that the online registration for the 2017 Qualifying Test will start on 2nd June 2017 and end on 28th July 2017.

1.0 Categories of candidates required to sit for the KCSE Qualifying Test include;

1.1 All prospective 2018 KCSE candidates with CPE certi�cate; 1.2 All candidates who failed the 2015 & 2016 KCSE Qualifying Test and wish to register for the 2018 KCSE examinations; 1.3 All form 3 students wishing to register for 2018 KCSE examination but hold foreign primary education certi�cates that are not equivalent to KCPE; 1.4 All the above category of students must have a minimum of three (3) years of secondary education or have been out of school for three years after sitting for their primary examination. This is important to ensure that the candidates take the duration expected from primary to secondary level.2.0 All candidates should register at the County Education O�ce or at their schools.

2.1 The following documents will be required for registration; 2.1.1 A copy of original CPE certi�cate; 2.1.2 Copy of letter of Equation from KNEC for all candidates holding a foreign primary education certi�cate; 2.1.3 A passport size photograph in a CD (300 x 300 pixels); 2.1.4 Certi�ed bank deposit slip of Kes.3,000/= per candidate; 2.1.5 The equation letter is obtained from the KNEC Archives and records o�ce at New Mitihani house, South C, Mombasa Road. 2.1.6 PLEASE note that, Candidates without the requisite registration documents should not be registered.

3.0 The registration fee is Kes.3,000/= (three thousand only) per candidate. The fees should be deposited in any of our KNEC KCSE fees collection accounts in the following banks: 3.1 Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) 3.2 National Bank of Kenya (NBK) 3.3 The Cooperative Bank of Kenya 3.4 Equity Bank

4.0 Details on the administration of the qualifying test will be communicated at a later date.
