April 28-May 4, 2014Referendum
Shall a new stepped fee be added for all student activity fee paying students for
the purpose of constructing and operating a Student Recreation Center on the
Lakewood Campus? The fee will have two components. The construction project bond portion of this fee will be charged for 30 years, beginning Spring semester 2016. The building operation and maintenance portion of the fee will start the semester
the recreation center opens for student use and will be a permanent fee.
The construction project bond portion of the fee shall start Spring semester 2016
and be set at $70.00 per semester for Fall and Spring semesters and $42.00
per semester for Summer semesters and continue for 30 years at this fixed rate. The
bond portion of the fee will discontinue when the bonds are paid in full.
The operating portion of the fee shall be a permanent fee set at $45.00 per semester for Fall and Spring semesters and $27.00 per semester for Summer semesters. This fee will not be charged until the semester the new recreation center opens for use, projected to be Spring 2017. When the
recreation center is in operation, the total combined fee shall be set at $115.00 per semester for Fall and Spring semesters and $69.00 per semester for Summer
semesters. The operating portion of the fee will continue indefinitely and may be increased by the annual rate of inflation
