Alabama and Graustark Get into the holiday spirit with lively music from The Jig Is Up!, Houston’s premier traditional Irish band. This special show will spotlight several Irish Christmas season traditions, including the “wren boys” parades for charity, sean nós (old style) dance and uniquely Irish Christmas songs. Robert Shaddox, with his clear tenor voice, is the band’s main vocalist; his skilled bodhrán adds punch to the dance tunes. Matt Lewis’ guitar drives the faster tunes and evokes the lyrical beauty to the ballads that Matt and Robert sing. Larry Mallette is the featured flute and whistle player and resident composer. Diehl Moran’s inventive fiddle and banjo add grace and punch to the music. Kendall Rogers is a highly sought traditional keyboardist who can double on guitar or accordion to complete the band’s sound.
