August 20-24 The JCC Camps at Medford is excited to offer one week intensive camp experiences after our regular camp season ends. If your child would like to take a deeper dive into an area at camp they love or want to try something new, they can join us August 20- 24. Our goal is to inspire campers to grow, learn and explore interests in a challenging and fun environment. Location All specialty camps are held at the JCC Camps at Medford: 400 Tuckerton Rd, Medford NJ Transportation Round trip transportation is provided daily from the Katz JCC, or you may drop off and pick up your camper(s) at camp. Our bus will depart the JCC at 9am and return to the JCC at 4pm. If you choose to drop off/pick up your camper, drop off is 9:30am, pick up is 3:30pm. AM and PM Care Early care only, 7:15am-9am: $30/week Late care only, 4-6:15pm: $30/week Both early and late care: $50/week Lunch and Snack Kosher lunch is provided daily. We are a nut aware and allergy friendly kitchen and provide snacks and ice cream/ice pops daily! Campers are not permitted to bring any products that contain nuts onto the bus or to Camp. LocationAll specialty camps are held at the JCC Camps at Medford:400 Tuckerton Rd, Medford NJ

Adventure ChallengeLove the adventure of the ropes course, the challenge to hit a bullseye, or the fun of hiking? Spend an intense week of climbing and self-discovery through these exciting activities. High Ropes challenges include conquering our map of Israel climbing wall, mastering the second platform on the Leap of Faith and traverse the multiple floating islands! Low Ropes activities will include working as a team to ski the ropes course and push limits to master our low wall and brave the suspended log element. Archery and nature hikes are infused into the program as well.

Robotics-1Using the Lego Education WeDo.2 robotic sets with supplemental software, campers will solve real world problems and program robots. LilBits, robotics and circuitry are blended in 8 different challenges for campers to interchange and reuse. Campers will learn robotics basics and be challenged with tasks for their robots to accomplish.

Robotics-2Using LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core Set, this system includes the EV3 Intelligent Brick, a compact and powerful programmable computer that makes it possible to control motors and collect sensor feedback using intuitive icon-based programming and data logging software. Campers will create their own robot and be challenged to perform both simple and complex tasks.

3-D PrintingBring a design to life with a 3-D printer. From conception to reality campers can design, print, and show off their creation. Campers will explore the design process with a course specially designed for campers to learn the basics. Simple shapes can turn into toys, prototypes, models and even jewelry. No design experience necessary.

DronesWith the combination of interactive, guided tutorials, puzzles and DIY projects, campers will write code to program a drone by solving puzzles, collaboration, and exploration. The activity builds on STEM concepts such as art, geometry, and science. Fundamental computer science concepts will be the basis of the student-made programs.

ArtThis camp experience is perfect for the art enthusiast and those that want to explore their creativity. Campers will spend the week exploring various art mediums, including Japanese paper marbling, photo transfers to ceramics, ink tiles, and others. Each day will feature a different project to inspire campers to create art that is unique to them.

Handwork Campers will explore the world of needle-arts while working on a wide array of unique projects. Fashion Design Machine Sewing Whether you are an aspiring fashion designer or a creative camper looking for new skills, immerse yourself in the wonderful world of machine sewing! Designed for older campers, this program is all about choice and creative expression. Campers will be taught how to read and use a wide variety of over 20 Simplicity Creative Group patterns and can choose from dozens of bolts of tempting fabrics to bring individual style and flare to every creation.

During each session, participants will work alongside professional chefs and registered dietitians to learn basic cooking skills and techniques while tasting and sampling delicious, creative culinary meals that they’ll also enjoy recreating at home.

Teenpreneur, Inc. JCC Camps at Medford has teamed up with Teenpreneur Inc. to offer a week-long specialty camp in business entrepreneurship. This program embraces entrepreneurial thinking and encourages young minds to become cutting-edge thinkers. Students will go from idea generation to presentation of their prototype and business plan.
