The connection of machines, plants and systems ismade via the Connectivity Port (CP). The CP is a combination of SAP PCo (Plant Connectivity)and LINERECORDER Agent. Both programs are connected via a high-speed interprocess communicationprotocol. The CP is a configurable, bidirectionally communicatinginterface software. It records and handles process information from theplants and transmits them to other systems (e.g. databases, ERP systems, MES); furthermore, it sends required information back to the plants. The CP is mainly used to prepare connections to:- Smart Observer- SAP Business Suite via NetWeaverPCo < > ERPSAP RFC protocol- Application-specific (ABAP) implementation - (RFC connected) web service
- SAP MII (Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence)PCo < > MIIhttp(s)/POST- MII Transaction - Web service PCo > HTML 5 / MII WebSocket- RFC 6455
- SAP ME (Manufacturing Execution)PCo < > MEhttp(s)/POST- Web service
- SAP PM (Plant Maintenance)PCo < > PMIntegration - when the measured value is exceeded,a service notification is issued

The CP supports a variety of protocols and enables bidirectional n-to-m networking of the components.Diagnostic data of the sensor is transmitted to the HANA database and to SAP tools for analysis. The image processing sensor sends images to an MES system for verification of the product quality.Consumption data is sent to SAP for evaluation and to the PLC for controlling. The PLC transmits new parameters to the sensor. Control data and parameters are sent to a control desk (MES).
