Testimony

Mr Manash Roy, Business Office Head, TLM Chandkhuri Hospital

My father started his career at Douglus St. Peters Mission Orphanage,

in Kolkata, where he taught the students music, motor mechanics,

welding, etc. Recently I lost my father, who was very disciplined and

punctual. I learnt a lot from him.

I started my career at TLMTI in August 2005, as an internal auditor for

community-based rehabilitation programme. After six months, the

Mission gave me the opportunity to work as project accountant, based

at Miraj. God helped me to learn various accounting aspects through

Mr Cherian T. Paul, who was the finance in-charge at that time at

project office, Miraj. After one year, the project office shifted to Belgaum

and we also moved from Miraj to Belgaum. There I was promoted as

senior accountant.

In the mean time, I married Tusu, whom God chose for me. She supports me in all my

work. At Belgaum, God blessed us with a daughter, whom we named Asmita. We had a

great time in Belgaum in terms of work and pleasant weather.

I didn’t have any plan to leave Belgaum. But in 2012, there was a vacancy for Business

Office Head at TLM Kolkata Hospital. I received a call from Country Office, and was asked

to attend an interview at Kolkata Hospital. I was interviewed and selected for the post. We

moved to Kolkata. I believe, it was God’s perfect plan for me.

At that time, TLM Kolkata Hospital had some issues with regard to statutory compliance.

Before attending every hearing, I used to pray, “Dear Father, you have brought me here,

and it is your responsibility to take care of your child. I am going for a hearing; you talk to

the people there and give me a favourable decision.” God wonderfully used me in getting

all the required documents from Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the Government

Health Department. It is my experience that God is already there to help us. When we

trust Him, we will see miracles.

In 2015, God sent me to TLM Chandhkuri Hospital. God blessed my family with a

daughter, whom we named Arshiy. My family, consisting of us four and my mother, live in

the hospital campus. During the last 11 years of my working with TLMTI, I experienced

God’s presence every moment in my life, and He helped me to overcome all difficult

situations and lead a victorious life. I thank God for that!

The Word of God says, “The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content,

untouched by trouble” - Proverbs 19:23.

TLM CHAMPA HOSPITAL

Praise God for:

Extension of the maternity wing, started in January.

Three months’ bedside assistant course has been started in January, jointly by VTC and the hospital,

in which 30 students are getting training and assisting hospital in its services.

The short visit of a delegation from EHA Australia to TLM Champa, The delegation came to know

about the functions of TLMTI during their visit.

The puppet show on JESUS, performed by Aangan Munch from Dehradun, audience including staff,

students of TLM Champa enjoyed the show. May God continue to help and bless the team, so that

it could support TLMTI’s awareness programmes.

Pray for:

God’s grace to complete the maternity block.

Procurement of medical equipments sanctioned for 2017 and successful renovation of several

hospital buildings and staff quarters.

Speedy recovery of Mrs Buti Bai, Mrs Itwara, Mrs Tapa, Mr Chandradhar, Mr Kirtan, Mr chhatrapal,

other resources. Pray for the strengthening of partnership with mutual support and understanding.

The QCI accreditation received for the new electrician course, additional diesel mechanic unit,

welder, dressmaking, computer courses. Pray for the faculty and students so that they can make

the best out of this blessing.

The successful two surgeries done on the staff family members, Mr Shekar and student, Kumar.

Pray for their complete healing. Pray for the Henna, Vice Principal, who is not feeling well; to

overcome sickness and fulfil her responsibilities.

The good results of 36 RCS patients after their post‐operative care; they returned to their

respective places.

The service of Mr Gulab Kesare (Footwear Technician) and Mr Vijay Jadhav (Ophthalmic

Technician). They have completed 25 yrs and 30 yrs in the Mission respectively. May God continue

to use them for His Glory.

Pray for:

Leprosy Sunday celebration in various churches in and around Kothara, Chikhaldara, Paratwada

and Amravati, this month.

A donor for portable Refractometer for the community outreach programme.

Committed staff to join the hospital this year.

Camps/clinics planned this month to reach out to many needy patients in the community.

Adult literacy teachers who are voluntarily conducting classes in the villages.

Successful programme with SHG groups to sensitise them on SHG and cooperatives, in the presence

of Block Officers; 60 SHG members attended the programme.

Elocution competition on leprosy held on January 30 for school children; 30 schools participated.

The successful training of three DPO leaders and two field workers on dairy farming in Anand,

Gujarat, and plans to develop such activity in Amravati district.

Today (February 20) is World Day of Social Justice. It is an awareness day which had been initiated by the

United Nations in 2009. World Day of Social Justice is a day recognizing the need to promote efforts to

tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion and unemployment.

People affected by leprosy who have been denied of their human rights.

God’s intervention in TLMT’s work to restore human rights to people affected by leprosy.

joined the Research Domain as Deputy Research Coordinator from 1st January 2017. Pray the God

may bless him and give him guidance as he takes up this new responsibility.

Pray for God’s guidance to all the members of TLMTI Research Committee when they meet today

to review new proposals and the progress of ongoing research

Praise God for the approval of two research projects by ICMR, which will be commencing this

month in SBL

Pray for wisdom and guidance for the Early Detection project funded by LRI, which is being

conducted in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh. This project is being affected by the new case detection

campaigns such as LCDC and SPARSH.

Pray for the protection of all the staff of various research projects who have to travel long distances

for their work.
