The President’s MessageGinny Otto F-IPPA
Historian: Pat Clifton, Service Award: Paul Hafermann, Fellowship: Tom Blomlie
Well, summer is here, finally....softball size hail and all! Wisconsin Rapids was riddled with softball size hail last week causing everything in it’s way to get riddled with dents, holes and smashing. Windows, cars, roofs, siding - everything was a mess. What a way for summer to make it’s mark. I can’t ignore the touchdowns of tornados in the area in the same storm. Some would say it started with a ‘bang’. Hot weather was to follow, providing a wonderful summer day in Cameron on the 10th and 11th. Hostess Jane Bores came through again with our two day event. Sunday was open for a dish to pass smorgasbord, guided tour of her studio, heated pool for a nice swim, and fin-ished off with a bon fire in the back 40.What a great time was had with fun, friendship and sharing. On Monday she hosted the meeting in her beautiful studio, serving pizza and subs to order in the back yard. Jane is a busy one with a graduation party, baby shower and other activities at her home in the last few weeks, not to mention the expectations of a new grandbaby in a couple of weeks. Thank you
Jane for hosting such a great year end event. Mark FitzGibbons gave a wonderful program on “Shooting for ourselves”. He shared images he took for himself as he traveled to many interesting places, taking time off from the studio work he was able to leave behind. He reminded us to do something for ourselves every day. Thank you Mark, for reminding us to enjoy what we really love about photography and take time for us. With the summer break ahead of us, please make your plans now to attend the Fall Convention to be held from October 13th-15th at the Stone Har-bor Resort in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Make reservations now to take advantage of the reduced rates. Any one wishing to car pool or share a room, may contact me. I will be glad to keep a list to share with those who are willing to participate. You will have to make your own arrangements, however. If you are new and need information about the convention, please also contact myself or other board members. If you have seen the line up of speakers, you won’t want to miss it. Check the WPPA website for details. Have a great and profitable summer season. See you next fall.

Ditto on Ginny's compliments to Jane for hosting the June meeting. Sorry I had to miss the Sunday pic-nic, but I was happy that I could at-tend the Monday meeting. Hope you all have had a won-derful summer and I look forward to seeing you at the fall convention. Be sure to read Ginny's message for details. I regret not being able to attend the October meeting as I will be in New Mexico visiting our son and his family. Speaking of family, Abra-ham (pictured to the right) is the latest addition to our family. He joins Lincoln our grand-dog as his feline friend. Get it...Abraham Lin-coln! He was abandoned and I just had to rescue him...isn't he cute!
