Government• It took about 100 years for the empire to grow to such

large numbers• It was an organized empire and everything was

controlled: from the people’s jobs, to their marriage, to their dietary restrictions

• Each new ruler of the Incas was called the Sapa Inca, child of the sun, and was referred to as a god

• To make sure the next Sapa Inca would have “pure blood of the sun” the Sapa Inca would have to marry his sister

bridges, they built over 14,000 miles of road

The Incas loved color and patterns so it was a custom to have many textiles throughout their homes. the tiles you had were depended on the gods you worship

CultureEducation Clothes UpbringingThe Incas had no system of writing so their way of educating was based on oral teachings and memorization

The Incas clothing was based on the peoples status in society meaning the higher ranked people wore more luxurious clothing with brighter colors and the poor peoples clothing was more plain

The Incas raised their children in a very strict way, as soon as they began to walk they were taught to work and by the age of five they were already helping their parents and working most of the day

In 1532 Spaniards had arrived on the coast and

attacked the Incas.

Even though the great Inca Civilization disappeared, traces of its culture remain all through

Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Hopefully their traces will be

passed from many generations to come.
