First Aid Training
Building Your Skills (Boys)
First Aid Training is due to take place on 18th
January, should there be anyone who requires to take this during this session please contact the office as we would like to have numbers prior to booking the trainer. Should there be insufficient interest the course may not go ahead. Replies to the office by 29
th November. Those completing Youth
Leader Training this session, please note it is mandatory that you also do Emergency First Aid Training if you do not already have a certificate.
This course is specifically for boys who are currently in company section and who are working towards their Presidents Badge. This training session will be held at Pollock Pavilion on Sunday 24
th November 2013. The
course runs from 1.30 – to 5.30pm. Please arrive for a prompt 1.30 start time.
Holiday Leadership Certificate Renewal
Leaders can renew instead of redoing the ‘Holiday Leadership’ course. It is an ideal time to renew your certificate as you may have been on a camp during the summer and this will allow you to be signed off for the next 5 years. Holiday Leadership – Campcraft Log sheets are available from Battalion Headquarters
Anchor Boys Age Regulations In Edinburgh, Leith and District Battalion the normal starting time for Anchor Boys is Primary Two. However, we would like to remind Companies that they can take in Primary 1 boys as long as they are aged 5. Common reasons for Companies taking boys earlier include: ‘competing’ with their local Beavers section and/or to increase the numbers in their Anchor Boys section. It is important to note that if you work with boys aged 4 to 5, you must satisfy Brigade Regulations: Section Five Age Regulations: Clause 5. If you have any queries on this issue, please contact the Development Officer by phone 0131 551 1200 ext 22.
