THE HOUSE JOURNAL OF RSAOI BENGALURU November : 2017 Issue : 11 The rain Gods continued to shower their copious blessings into Oct affecting all functions and activity. Notwithstanding the threat of a heavy down pour we had the colourful Diwali Santhe (Flea Market) on 14 & 15 Oct. There were both inhouse and outside vendors with their colourful wares, clothes, nik-naks etc along with a children's gaming area and Food Court which were very well received. The highlight of the month of course was the Diwali Function. The Super Bumper Tambola with attractive gifts and cash prizes was a big draw and overcrowded inspite of a light drizzle and ominous clouds looming over the area. The function was celebrated without the usual fire work display and thus contributed to the eco-friendly environment of a noise and pollution free Bangalore. The entire RSAOI premises were decked with lights in myriad hues and colours. The AIFD put up a dazzling display of Fashion Show and cultural programme. This was followed by 'After Hours' by DJ Chetan who kept both the young and old enthralled by his selective and popular tunes ensuring the members dancing well past mid night. The Infantry Day was celebrated on 27 Oct with Solemnity at the Wreath Laying Ceremony at PRTC and gaiety at the Dinner org at RSAOI. The function was well attended by both Serving Officers and Veterans of the Queen of the Battle. The highlights of the function were the Para Regtl Centre brass band, movie on Infantry and the cake cutting ceremony. The Infantarians interacted with all the guests amidst lot of bonhomie and sharing of nostalgic moments of togetherness.
