SMARTer ventilation solutions = savings

How does it work? Greenwood HumidiSMART™ uses man-made increases in indoor humidity levels to determine its activation.

Throughout the day it monitors the installed environment and knows what the normal ambient humidity levels are. A rapid increase from these levels usually indicates that an activity with high levels of moisture is occurring e.g. cooking/showering and therefore a need to switch ventilation to boost mode.

This is in contrast to a traditional humidistat sensor that uses a generic pre-set humidity point (e.g. 65%) to activate the fan into boost mode.

Greenwood HumidiSMART™ takes into consideration how humidity levels differ in homes, in geographical locations and throughout the changing seasons. It has been designed to respond to the installed environment, always protecting from detrimentally high levels of humidity.

A generic setting may well be under or over compensating as it activates the fan in response to increases that naturally occur during the day as well as moisture generating activity – therefore wasting more energy than needed and sometimes spurring into action in the middle of the night!

FOR WALLS2 Preserving pennies & reducing maintenance

Every single installed fan will need a level of maintenance during its lifetime, however Unity has been designed with a difference.

Firstly, it is filterless, so there are no replacement programmes required. Secondly, its unique, backward curved, mixed flow impellor blades provide the best protection against any build up of dirt, which traditionally affects airflow performance and most importantly running noise. Overall, Unity is one of the best investments for long-term ventilation specifications.

3 Safety first

With safety as a high priority, we are pleased that Unity has been certified as IPX5* rated in accordance with the International Protection Ratings for the installation of electrical products in bathrooms.

This seal of approval gives an extra layer of safety for occupants and peace of mind for landlords especially as it is one of the only fans of its type that achieves such high safety certification.

IPX5 gives protection against jetted water as oppose to splashed water (IPX4).

Fuss-free installation

We have kept the installer firmly in the forefront of our mind whilst designing Unity.

A ‘Twist-Lock’ front fascia simply turns for removal. On the inside, screws can be undone but stay in place when you use the innovative ‘stay open’ internal hinge for easy wiring access and secure fixing, designed to reduce installed vibration. This means no need to hold or put down screws keeping everything within easy reach of the installer.

4 Variable speed – gas safety

Unity has been designed with an innovative 100% adjustable airflow feature where ventilation can be tailored to each home at the point of installation, a crucial requirement where gas appliances are installed.

This ability ensures that the ventilation rate can be tested appropriately to ensure health and safety for occupants.

With adjustable airflow, Unity can also be adjusted with any changing needs of the property, especially where efficiency upgrades are being made. Once changed, the settings are locked and can’t be further adjusted by tenants.

Unity’s innovative design gives considerable flexibility for many applications. With such versatility you can specify with confidence for all housing improvement and responsive works.

They can be commissioned onsite in the quickest time and most fuss-free way (no more fiddly switches to set up different speeds).

Once installed, they work in harmony with the actual environment because they are sensing the environment around them and react because of it, not because of a generic setting.

They help reduce problems often associated with some ventilation products – nuisance noise (especially in the middle of the night) and unnecessary heat loss.

When operating in the home, they help save more energy! Less electricity is being used having a positive impact on your bills, and they contribute even further to reducing the carbon footprint of the home (because they do what they need to do in the actual environment).
