Problems in Farming

During good times, farmers were also buying more land and machinery and borrowing to do so.

But in the late 20s, production went way up, but demand for crops like cotton & wheat dropped.

What can the farmers do?

They either drop their prices or cut back on planting as much land. Either way, profit dropped greatly

Result: Farmers couldn’t repay loans. Banks had to either take the farms or close their doors.
