ATTENDANCE REPORT: November 26, 2017
The youth group just wrapped up a lesson series called, “Choosing Joy.” In our culture we are constantly being peppered with things to buy and an image to maintain that will make us "happy." And this makes some kind of sense, right? To be happy I must serve and look after myself. Although, we see something entirely different in scripture. For example, read Philippians 4:4-9, that’s some good stuff.
Someone has said, “Joyful people find ways to give their lives away.” This could not be more true. Our students have picked up on this and are doing a fantastic job of sharing their joy with others. Both Addison Dean and Kate Burton sacrificed their Fall Break to serve those in Houston who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Jarod Alsup and Trenton Paris are just some of the students that have brought guests to church and youth events.
The Edmond church has been a model to our students for giving lives in service to God and others. With tools like Discovery Bible Study and service opportunities, our students are learning to “Be Disciples”and with the support and love of this community, they are stepping out of their comfort zones to “Make Disciples.”
